At the far end of the Bywater, you’ll find Bacchanal, a weird little wine shop that evolved into a wine garden utopia and one of the coolest places you can spend a night in New Orleans. After you pick out a bottle, head outside to the big backyard where you can drink, order cheese and charcuterie, and catch live music every night of the week. There’s also a semi-secret cocktail and wine bar upstairs, which is the perfect place to take in the scene and survey the backyard for available seats.

Bacchanal, a Bywater wine shop known for its amazing courtyard and live music, offers a seasonal menu of exquisite, affordable small plates like salt cod fritters, grilled sardines, and littleneck clams. There's also a cocktail bar that offers indoor seating for when the backyard is simply too packed to accommodate. Bacchanal matured into a gathering spot for the Bywater neighborhood following Hurricane Katrina, and despite its current must-do status with tourists, remains an integral part of its heart.

Fantastic bar! You enter a small wine shop where you can get wine and charcuterie, then you exit a small back door and enter a fantastic courtyard with jazz and happy times!
