Even though they came out when I was older, I was addicted to Harry Potter. My wife and I would preorder the books and then take turns reading chapters. We would get very little sleep until the new book was finished.

So good. I still remember my dad buying me the first book, before anyone had ever heard of it. I was actually the exact age each book in this series was written for πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ so my dad read to me at night and slowly as each book came out and got more complex, I aged and my reading got better. I still remember waiting for each book to come out and get asap. (Then one day do the same with the films!) Very fond memories looking back at growing up with these books. Still have all the originals πŸ₯° Beautifully written. Love the detail gone into creating this world. Even the Latin names for the spells etc and representations (like dementors and depression), foreshadowing, I mean Google the details.. even Snape's first question to Harry is a secret nod to his regret for his mother's death 🀯. Loved them having different houses, like I had in school too (though we had less rivalry and magic - more losing housepoints for forgetting to do by homework πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™€οΈ). Love how easy it is to be absolutely absorbed into this world. Really felt so accessible to your mind. I think that's why it's become so well loved. I do think the ending was painfully cheesy and I still remember the utter disappointment reading that section thinking it must've been added to please the people, but I'd have preferred without and to wonder. Preferred a different coupling too. But by this point, the series was very well known.. lot of watching eyes! Side fact / memory: when I moved to N. America, they would make me read Harry Potter to them so they could listen to it in an English accent 🀣
