It was a great read. The adventure Harry goes through each book is captivating and both he, Ron and Hermione are given very human-like traits (whereas most of the main characters in fantasies like this are almost flawless, bordering on perfect) which I love, they can make you so annoyed sometimes.
It might come as a shock for me to say that my favorite characters weren't Harry Potter and his two friends at all, that's to show how other characters were able to influence the series too.
But I noticed some plot holes and what I believed were far-fetched theories (even for a fantasy, I know) and I didn't like the fact that the author killed almost everyone in the novel who knew what his parents looked like and then some. I know it's meant to show his emotional turmoil and part of his development but I found it just a bit much.
All in all, that didn't stop the book from being terrific!!!! I recommend you read.
P.S: For the first few books, I really didn't understand what the hype it was getting was all about, suffice to say my mind leaned a little towards the opposite of that as I read on.
Every one must read or at least watch to the harry poter
