NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER - OVER ONE MILLION COPIES SOLD! A gripping novel about the whirlwind rise of an iconic 1970s rock group and their beautiful lead singer, revealing the mystery behind their infamous breakup--from the author of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and Malibu Rising REESE'S BOOK CLUB PICK - IN DEVELOPMENT AS AN ORIGINAL STREAMING SERIES EXECUTIVE PRODUCED BY REESE WITHERSPOON "An explosive, dynamite, down-and-dirty look at a fictional rock band told in an interview style that gives it irresistible surface energy."--Elin Hilderbrand NAMED ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS OF THE YEAR BY NPR - The Washington Post - Esquire - Glamour - Real Simple - Good Housekeeping - Marie Claire - Parade - Paste - Shelf Awareness - BookRiot Everyone knows DAISY JONES & THE SIX, but nobody knows the reason behind their split at the absolute height of their popularity . . . until now. Daisy is a girl coming of age in L.A. in the late sixties, sneaking into clubs on the Sunset Strip, sleeping with rock stars, and dreaming of singing at the Whisky a Go Go. The sex and drugs are thrilling, but it's the rock 'n' roll she loves most. By the time she's twenty, her voice is getting noticed, and she has the kind of heedless beauty that makes people do crazy things. Also getting noticed is The Six, a band led by the brooding Billy Dunne. On the eve of their first tour, his girlfriend Camila finds out she's pregnant, and with the pressure of impending fatherhood and fame, Billy goes a little wild on the road. Daisy and Billy cross paths when a producer realizes that the key to supercharged success is to put the two together. What happens next will become the stuff of legend. The making of that legend is chronicled in this riveting and unforgettable novel, written as an oral history of one of the biggest bands of the seventies. Taylor Jenkins Reid is a talented writer who takes her work to a new level with Daisy Jones & The Six, brilliantly capturing a place and time in an utterly distinctive voice.

March ’19 - “The book centers on the meteoric rise of a rock band in the ‘70s and its lead singers Daisy Jones and Billy Dunne, whose connection is as electric as the music they make together. It’s sex, drugs and rock ‘n roll, people!! The book comes out March 5, so you can pre-order it now… And the very best part?! Hello Sunshine is turning this into a TV show with Amazon Studios… so stay tuned for more updates!” - Reese Witherspoon

One of my favourite books of the year. I really enjoyed this book for the way it was written. I thought it was innovative, and a very intriguing form of narrative. The book definitely stands out for this reason, but it also has a lot of heart and made me teary in the end

This is my number one recommendation that I give to everyone, along with The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. So good. This is the book that got me back into reading, and the similarities to the 1970’s Fleetwood Mac was super enjoyable for me!

the build up to the end was amazing but maybe bc of the high anticipation i was kinda let down at the end. it just ended so suddenly and i was unsatisfied. i mean we did get closure in a way but ig i was just expecting something more. billy’s character was incredibly developed tho i was so glad when he didn’t relapse!! and his relationship with camilla is literally what we all want in life. camilla is an amazing woman and one day i hope i can be someone like her. honestly didn’t rly see the need for daisy’s character. obviously she is one of the main characters and all but i couldn’t resonate with her and i found myself getting annoyed w her at times. also HUGE plot twist at the end… taylor jenkins reid is so good at these!! totally unpredictable and jaw dropping revelations.

This was a super engaging read especially on audiobook! It’s a full cast which got me immersed in the story right away. This book is like a character study where the people don’t always make the best decisions but they feel real and messy and interesting. Highly recommend.

“I devoured Daisy Jones & The Six in a day, falling head over heels for it. Taylor Jenkins Reid transported me into the magic of the ’70s music scene in a way I’ll never forget. The characters are beautifully layered and complex. Daisy and the band captured my heart, and they’re sure to capture yours, too.”—Reese Witherspoon.

Love how it was structured (in an interview style throughout) and that I wasn’t sure if it was fictional or not as I first started reading.

Really liked this, easy, interesting and very different read. Perfect if you don’t want anything too intellectually challenging. Only giving it a 4/5 as I was so disappointed to find out it was fictional! Which then made the ‘twist’ at the end and a few other scenes feel a bit manufactured.
