About the book

image4.4/5.0

In this “brave and heartbreaking novel that digs its claws into you and doesn’t let go, long after you’ve finished it” (Anna Todd, New York Times bestselling author) from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of All Your Perfects, a workaholic with a too-good-to-be-true romance can’t stop thinking about her first love. Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town where she grew up—she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. And when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily’s life seems too good to be true. Ryle is assertive, stubborn, maybe even a little arrogant. He’s also sensitive, brilliant, and has a total soft spot for Lily. And the way he looks in scrubs certainly doesn’t hurt. Lily can’t get him out of her head. But Ryle’s complete aversion to relationships is disturbing. Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his “no dating” rule, she can’t help but wonder what made him that way in the first place. As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan—her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened. An honest, evocative, and tender novel, It Ends with Us is “a glorious and touching read, a forever keeper. The kind of book that gets handed down” (USA TODAY).

An enjoyable read in a distressing and sometimes upsetting way. Having never experienced what Lily experienced, it can be difficult to relate to her choices at times but Colleen Hoover has brought me closer to understanding than ever before.

Where do i start? I basically finished this book in a day. The first chapters were kind of slow for me, but then I started to read and I couldn’t stop. This book had me feeling every emotion there is. And how Colleen writes Ryle made me doubt myself, I started to love him. Wanting him and Lily to have a future, marriage. And I excused his behaviour. I hated myself for it, but that’s the beauty of Colleens writing. It’s so good you live those scenes. I bawled my eyes out the last chapters, happy and sad. Even the note from the authour made me cry. This book is very emotional and important, it shows you how easy forgivness is, and how hard acceptens is. In the end I’m so happy with how it turned out, their relationship, parenting and Atlas. I will be buying It Starts With Us as soon as it’s out. ”It stops here. With me and you. It ends with us.” 😭

This book had no faults as such. I seriously adored all the characters. I cried so much when Lily was in the hospital with the baby and talking to Ryle… beautiful story.

this book talks about a toxic relationship and show us the struggles that lily (the main character) goes thru, trying to understand what is happening in her relationship, and the thing I most liked about it was that colleen didn’t romanticize a toxic relationship.

This book is a gem. 🥲 I feel so sorry for Lily yet I’m also so proud of her for making the right decision. This book is heartbreaking and inspirational at the same time. It taught me a lot of lessons that will certainly hold a special place in my heart. Everyone should definitely read this book at least once in their life.

I enjoyed this book and I though it handled the subject it surrounded very maturely and proved it could be an eye opener to people who read it who may have a stigma or perceived very/stereotype of such thing. I do think however that the book felt a bit rushed towards the end so I think that Colleen Hoover made the right decision of writing another book that will be released soon. Whereas in some case i feel like a second book isn’t needed this isn’t one.

THIS BOOK IS JUST SO AMAZING. it’s depressing in a beautiful way, made me cry so so much in the 2nd part of the book. And I love how the book makes me feel like how would I act and what would my next move be if I were Lily. This book exposes to me about the real side or issue of homeless and domestic violence. Definitely recommend it to you if you don’t want to read something romantic! PS: Atlas, please be mine </3

Honestly, this was a super good book, and I would recommend it if you like romance books. I really liked that it was an easy book to get into and read too, I’m pretty sure I finished reading it in a few days. I can’t remember at what point, but the book did make me cry somewhere toward the end 😵

I don’t think the book explored a romance that I found fulfilling and healthy. The topic is very important, but the subject could definitely have been explored better.
