I never read but this book is AMAZING!!! It’s about a girl who gets murdered/raped and her telling her story from heaven, and the process of how her family finds out what happens and how they deal with it - very sad story but very interesting!

This was recommended to me by my mum. I tried to read it a few years ago and didn’t get far but gave it another go and it was an okay story, fucked up

Started off fast paced and full of promise.. then it turned into the movie ghost

I love the book. It always makes me cry. In terms of writing, it conveys the characters and their journey through grief perfectly. In terms of subject matter, be aware that there is the rape and murder of a girl and the consequences for her family and community, so it may be triggering to some people. Reader discretion is adviced.

I love the interesting pov this book takes on. I don’t really think about the dead all that much so it was cool to explore that. although “her breasts were perfect small cups” was a description that kinda made me cringe. I understand it’s because susie will never get to grow up now that she’s dead but like it’s still weird to me.

Evoking, perfectly dancing between light-hearted and emotionally loaded.
