Being the first spinoff film in any franchise is always a major task, and Star Wars did it phenomenally. This film is absolutely brilliant in showing the Rebellion as it launches its first massive assaults against the Empire and introducing a cast of characters that are easy to get to know and grow attached to. The villains are relatable (Krennic, Tarkin, Darth Vader) and the heroes do things that aren’t so heroic (Saw Gerrera, Cassian Andor); however all of these characters have depth and provide way more to the Star Wars franchise as a whole.
I read the novelization of this film a few months back and it adds so much to the thinking behind the characters and their feelings as the events progress.

Loved the storyline and incredible action sequences. Loved that there was minimal Jedi involvement and the heroes are the ordinaries of the universe. Loved that it ties in so perfectly with Episode 4 👌

Love all these unknown characters. I wasn’t expecting much from this as I knew it stood alone in addition to the trilogy movies but it didn’t disappoint.
Very different from a typical Star Wars film and that is what makes it special. A must watch if you have seen the original trilogy.

This together with a new hope are basically the perfect partnership. Can't think of many better prequels . Hand in glove baby .
Best Star Wars film since the reboot. The real suicide squad lol. Much better film than any of the new sequel films.
It’s a story about disposable characters, and it shows.
A refreshing break amongst the three disastrous Star Wars films from the studio.
Es ist Star Wars. Come on!
