Derek Vineyard is paroled after serving 3 years in prison for killing two African-American men. Through his brother, Danny Vineyard's narration, we learn that before going to prison, Derek was a skinhead and the leader of a violent white supremacist gang that committed acts of racial crime throughout L.A. and his actions greatly influenced Danny. Reformed and fresh out of prison, Derek severs contact with the gang and becomes determined to keep Danny from going down the same violent path as he did.

Still relevant today Edward Norton brought this movie to another level. The camera work and black and white used don't keep you immersed as if it were a 120 minute movie but gives you moments throughout to think about the world we live in and where we live on it. This is a must see for any high school kid.

Good film. Not Edward Norton bets performance in my opinion however still very effective. Displays a great message to the younger audience and it shows that people can be redeemed. A great film with a theme of redemption which is the best part of this movie I think - 8/10

Great eye opener on racism and racial jingoism on daily day America. Edward Norton was impeccable, probably deserved an academy award for his performance.
