Clarice Starling is a top student at the FBI's training academy. Jack Crawford wants Clarice to interview Dr. Hannibal Lecter, a brilliant psychiatrist who is also a violent psychopath, serving life behind bars for various acts of murder and cannibalism. This is one of those classic films that I’ve been meaning to watch for so long now and I’ve finally gotten to it. From start to finish, this is a thrill! The acting is incredible, the story is unique and believable in every instance, and the violence felt so real every time it occurred. There’s no doubt in my mind that this is one of the greatest films made in both the thriller and horror genres, and I cannot wait to watch it again in the future!

A horror movie classic! Based on the psychological scare rather than focused on jump scares. Highly recommend!

That one scene of Anthony Hopkins talking to Jodie Foster when he's behind bars... It sold the whole movie for me. The film is paced so beautifully, one moment you're heart is pumping with adrenaline because what's happening on screen, but then in the next moment you'll be in utter fear by what Hannibal Lecter might do. It's so meticulous, so carefully crafted in every way, that it's just mind-blowing.

The film’s minimalism effectively draws out and sustains an overarching sense of dread, and saves the best parts for our imagination.

I don’t really get the hype for this film or the appeal of the pop culture références to this film today.
