Heralded as the best picture of 2008 and nominated for an impressive amount of awards. Probably doesn’t merit the type of praise it received, but it’s hard to call a move this good overrated. Danny Boyle is a master director. Does look at India through a western lens, and problematic because of it. Kind of have to turn a blind eye to some of the portrayals of India, but if you can do that, a really fantastic movie that strikes all the right chords.

No doubt it deserves 10 as very few movies are made which are on this level and represent a true hidden face of our society. Still remember that I was in Australia when this was released and with in few days it became so famous that everyone at my work place and other known ones were talking about it and bombarding with questions that if all such events can happen in real life and the answer was YES to a great extent.
