6People used to say that you could never make a movie out of the Watchmen story, that it just wouldn’t translate from comic to screen. Zack Snyder proved that to be wrong in undertaking a major project. The cinematography, consumes, tone, and gritty production style are all fantastic. But I think the real question shouldn’t have been whether a movie could have been made out of the comic, but whether a GOOD movie would come out of it. Snyder’s Watchmen does so many things so well. So what makes a large portion of this movie a total snooze? Is it the length? Is the the monochromatic, bleak feel? Is it simply that they should have changed the story more for a movie experience, rather than trying to replicate the comic? I’m not sure what the answer is, but as a pure moviegoing experience, Watchmen just feels like it missed the mark somehow.

10Straight up original gem. The plot, the sub plots, the setting, the alternate time line the story is set in and the FANTASTIC sound track.
