Really beautiful costume and set design. I think Anya Taylor-Joy was a perfect gossipy Emma that you love to hate.

Really enjoyed this. Had me captured throughout, especially by the cinematography, beautiful shots, and stunning settings. Good acting by Anna Taylor-Joy. All star cast, recognised so many people. I usually always struggle to follow period pieces, sadly. Got a touch lost 3/4 way through but still enjoyed it. Had to be in the right mood for it I think. And I was.

Watched the first 45 min of this and luckily I had the sensibility to cut my losses and go back to watching Tiger King! For a person who doesn’t know the story the movie completely lacks any explanations and the first 30 min we had to stop the movie several times so Keila could explain who people were! Story line is SOOO slow and it felt like it didn’t really start until minute 40! Definitely not a movie for me!

Newcomer Autumn de Wilde has made an adaption of the classic Jane Austen novel that is both loyal to the original material and modern in it’s tone. Faboulous costumes and well casted. Quite enjoyable and one of the better Austen adaptions.
