First cinema trip back and it was worth it - the sound mixing definitely worthy of the Oscar and you need to be in the cinema to really appreciate it!

Solid 10. There's just SO much to like about the movie, and the way that the movie approaches the topic is don't sensitively, warmly and with humour.

I loved this. I don't think I've ever heard a sound design be used to tell a story quite like what I experienced with Sound of Metal and Riz Ahmed gives a fantastic performance.

Riz Ahmed is fantastic in this very moving and uplifting story of a drummer's struggle with his loss of hearing. The film gives you an insight into the complex and hugely supportive deaf community, and through some exceptional sound editing, it very effectively immerses the audience in experiencing how disorientating deafness can be. Wonderful film and Ahmed deserves all of the praise coming his way.

25 mins into this I started to think this was maybe not for me however I’m glad I gave it a chance because it turned into a pretty good film with some sweet moments. Would say that the deafness effects used are a bit uncomfortable and will mess with your ears so maybe not for everyone

riz ahmeds acting is so strong in this, and he portrays his character so well. what stole the show for me though was the sound production, so hats off to whoever did that 🤯🤯🤯

Not a huge story, but an immersion into a character trying to emotionally reconcile loss, both physically and emotionally.

Riz Ahmed should’ve won best actor over Chadwick Boseman imo. Stellar performance This movie felt very real and the sound design implemented to put us in the perspective of our protagonist was so powerful as he goes through a change of accepting his unavoidable disability: in the end accepting that beauty is silence. Spreads such great awareness to the importance of sign language and that ear health should not be overlooked. Stand out movie for me from last year. Great watch. Emotional. 8/10

Mucho más drama del que esperaba. Siento que la parte de que sea un baterista es mucho menos importante de lo que debería ser. Los problemas a los que se enfrenta son muy generales y no se siente la particularidad de que sea un músico.

A bit disappointed by this - 98% on rotten tomatoes but was a bit slow. Not good for me
