About the movie

Based on Wes Craven's 1977 suspenseful cult classic, The Hills Have Eyes is the story of a family road trip that goes terrifyingly awry when the travelers become stranded in a government atomic zone. Miles from nowhere, the Carter family soon realizes the seemingly uninhabited wasteland is actually the breeding ground of a blood-thirsty mutant family...and they are the prey.

This seriously disturbed me, and I probably won’t watch it ever again. But I guess that’s what makes a good horror movie.

This film is overly violent with way too much shock factor. You can really tell they were trying to use the least amount of money as they possibly could as well, with the cheap camera work (fast shutter speed and frames per second). They did an ok job in trying to retell the story of the original but there is a lot of things which are completely new such as the lore for the cannibals (the nuclear minor town) and the amount of monsters there is (a lot more than the original but I think this is just to add to the shock factor). To say it how it is, its just not a classic. It doesn't and never will live up to the expectations of its 1977 predicesor and the reviews for the film can basically tell you that. Obviously it's all down to opinion which I'm all for, but I think most people can agree that the original is better. I watched the remake first because I found it in a charity shop and after just now watching the original, I can say with confidence that this remake is just not as good - 5/10

Oh man. From the Dad being burned alive in front of his entire family unable to do anything to the daughter’s rape, this was hard to watch.

This remake was unreal. I remember being incredibly young and being uncomfortable by the rv scene.
