I am used to fun, upbeat films from Edgar Wright but this one really hits different. Last Night in Soho is very menacing horror and deep psychological thriller. It falls flat at some point and the end is kind of predictable but the performances are fantastic!

After one viewing I was a bit disappointed but probably because I had very high expectations from this. The idea of Edgar Wright doing horror mystery with elements of the 60s sounded almost too good to be true. He crafted a beautiful film with some fantastic performances and visuals, but something about it fell a bit flat or felt hollow 🤔 Not sure how to describe it and my opinion might change after a few viewings

7.8/10 One of my favourite new 2021 films! Amazing visual and music, brings a new perspective to an area I deeply love. Story is quite powerful, extremely suiting considering I watched before Halloween. Definitely recommend to watch it on the big screen! 60s music is magical.

📣 Top user review: Pros: Edgar Wrights stylish direction is entertaining. Its a psychological horror film that is about a girl moving to Soho. When visiting a rental room. She has visions of the 60s in Sandys perspective (Ana Taylor Joy). The film has a great soundtrack that works great with the film. It does have a few thrills that will keep you on the edge. Thomasin Mckenzie and Ana Taylor Joy did a great job with there characters. Cons: the plot becomes forgettable once everything comes together. Like any other ordinary supernatural thriller. A girl with a gift that can see visions of the dead and what happened in the past. Which someone was murdered. And she is trying to solve that mystery. The climax becomes dull once the twist is revealed which was not surprising or shocking. Which thw third act becomes weak compared to the rest of the film.

Wright's Least Comedic Movie Is Still Thrilling Last Night in Soho is a stylish and thrilling work from Wright, bolstered by an impressive lead performance from Thomasin McKenzie.

A gaudy romp that’s stupidly enjoyable Edgar Wright’s time-travel film plays like a 60s pop song building towards a big climax.

Eloise (Thomasin McKenzie), an aspiring fashion designer, is mysteriously able to enter the 1960s where she encounters a dazzling wannabe singer, Sandie (Anya Taylor-Joy). But the glamour is not all it appears to be and the dreams of the past start to crack and splinter into something far darker.

I had high hopes for it, and tbh, it didn’t live to this hope, but it also didn’t disappoint.
