Five stars for 'uncontrived, authentic' Minari Minari, which tells the story of a Korean-American family building a life in rural Arkansas is "sensitively written and acted and beautifully shot"

A sweet movie with some very loveable characters and great dynamics, of course the best duo being the over-protected boy and the foul-mouthed Grandma. I enjoyed it's easy going feel, I feel like it gently washed over me rather than causing any sort of massive reaction at any point.

A good experience of a movie (although not really a feel-good movie). Has some genuinely great acting. There are some light touches, but overall leans towards a heavier drama with an indie filmmaker’s pace. It’s a semi-autobiographical work with a fairly small story. It doesn’t dwell on struggles from unwelcoming communities, racism, culture clash, etc. Instead, it focuses on more nuanced, internal family dynamics, and is very good at doing so.

Loved this movie. Such amazing storytelling, this movie truly shows you don’t need a long drawn out script or wild storyline. Simple coming of age story with a beautiful message that is sprinkled throughout the movie.

Led by arresting performances from Steven Yeun and Yeri Han, Minari offers an intimate and heart-wrenching portrait of family and assimilation in 1980s America. Read critic reviews
