tick, tick... BOOM! makes musical magic out of a story focused on the creative process -- an impressive feat for debuting director Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Andrew Garfield is 10/10 in this meta musical about writing a musical. Some of the emotional payouts weren't as big as I expected them to be but overall a very touching film with a few catchy songs and a stellar cast! Also fun to watch out for the numerous musical theatre cameos!

Okay Andrew Garfield, my man ! Seriously from the uttermost depth of my heart I wanted to say that I'm in love with you, or one could say that you made me fall in love with you. And I'm just really thankful of you and your role and in general for you, doing this film and giving the life that this film required. I love you so so very much. I mean literally Andrew Garfield has just bloody nailed the role of Jonathan Larson in this one. Clearly nobody would've done it better than you. The movie was abso-fuckin-lutely fantastic, brilliantly written, superbly casted and seriously what a movie, what a story, what a performance. It just really shook my heart. And I have to take moment and bow down for a moment for the director, Lin Manual Miranda who created this epic movie. This movie was filled with life, music, drama. A perfect respect to Jonathan Larson's legacy and Broadway. It really filled me with the thought that nothing's easy in this world and you really gotta have to wait and grind to be what you see in the people you admire and it creates a dilemma of what kinda distopia is that, that you really gotta have to just keep on going to make yourself spark into this hustle driven society, it's very tough man to carry all that with your own life and people that you love at the same level and keepong and managing that too alongside. To the minute the movie got started and to the last second it ended, it all felt like 2 minutes though it was almost 2 hours watching it and that's the magic of Lin Manual, and the sound scorers of the movie, with whom it was possible and this felt it all started with the clock's ticking and ended with the same Tick Tick Boom... Is the perfect musical drama which resonates with the real life events that came in Jonathan Larson's journey to sucess, from his struggles to where he made himself in the Broadway, the success with Rent. Movies like these are a gem and a blessing to cinema and I'm glad that Lin Manual Miranda made this masterpiece.

Musical Adaptation Reminds Us Why Rent Was Better While Andrew Garfield gives a driven and kinetic performance as Larson, Tick, Tick… Boom! is messy, missing a distinct spark and emotional depth.

Musical theatre met film… boom! Amazing memorial to Jonathan Larson, Andrew Garfield presents a phenomenal performance - definitely one of his bests. Miranda is a genius when it comes to musical, he cleverly mixed story within Tick Tick Boom score and giving new life to an old tale. Larson’s struggle remains relatable to every creator out there, the balance between dream and reality. It is unfortunate how he never got to see Rent’s massive success, as I can only dream about how many more amazing musicals he could’ve written. He was right, he changed musical theatre forever. Rent has always been one of my favourite musicals, and now it’s more touching to think about the story, after seeing a glimpse of his life.
