Dope twist at the end. Interesting take on time loops mixed with today’s issues in society. Joey Badass can rap and act apparently, too. Who knew?

Not a huge fan of the ending but Joey Badass and the officer did great with what they had to work with.

Some of this is actually really hard to watch. You know the points this film wants to make and it really does make them. This time loop thing coming up a lot lately! But it brings such a fantastic point of; what could I change to stop this outcome? That's something we do wonder, could this have been prevented? I often (almost every time) would get profiled and followed by security when I go shopping because I look young, I dress comfortably and I take my time in life.. this is often profiled as a rough teen eyeing up security cameras to steal. (Truth couldn't be further!) But for me, I can change my clothes and I won't be followed. This isn't the case for so many.
When a crime is committed for no other reason than targeted prejudice, ignorance, racism... then it isn't about what you can do to change. It's about the other person.
Honestly the ending was interesting but TOTALLY confused me (threw me for a loop 😉). If he knows about the time loop then he really is just going after him.. why him? Did he create the loop? Why did he stroke his face weird like that? I feel like it almost nullifies the point of randomly targeted racism. But he clearly is racist so why is he choosing to attack this specific guy?
I'm guessing there's a deeper meaning.. the time loop won't end because his mind hasn't actually changed? He will just keep killing someone even if not him. He doesn't want to stop killing? Worse; he enjoys it? I'll have to think on it more but the film gets you thinking and sparks conversation and the conversation must continue. So many people in this world should be treated better and not live in fear 🖤
Only thing for me: White racist cop with gold tooth was almost too over-stereotypical for me (side note tooth reminded me of home alone when he smiled!). It seems there truly are those out there that do fit stereotypes but maybe would be even more powerful to see how a non-stereotype was also in such wrong mindset.
Adored the birds eye view shot with the roof and names on it (small detail could've missed). Good cinematography. Made well. I hope he makes it home to his dog!! Cutie.
