This movie reminded me of Crank with Jason Statham, only not as good. Jason Statham has martial arts training, so the fights scenes are way better, also Crank while dialing up the action to 11, it incorporates a lot of dark humor, making the movie incredibly entertaining. Kate, is not a bad movie, although the plot is a bit predictable, the movie overall is entertaining. My biggest issue is the action. The action is sloppy and poorly executed. Mary Elizabeth can handle the acting but she falls short in the action sequences, they could have done better with a stunt actress for those. A lot of the fight scenes look slow down (like they are counting steps in a choreography) and you can tell a lot of the punches and kicks and grabs are just not landing. If it wasn't for this the movie would have been a lot better. In any case, Woddy Harrelson steals the movie, he is made for these type of roles, jajajajajaja. He can be smooth and shady all at once. It's an okay movie, but I don't foresee any sequels.

Stylish Netflix assassin thriller just about does the job Mary Elizabeth Winstead plays a killer with 24 hours to live in a familiarly plotted yet diverting enough Japan-set thriller

Netflix Action Movie Can’t Be Saved By Mary Elizabeth Winstead Kate has some decently fun action, despite certain trite directorial choices, with Mary Elizabeth Winstead serving as the movie's main bright spot.

"Mary Elizabeth Winstead does reliably gripping work in the title role, but Kate is disappointingly derivative of numerous other female assassin films."

Mini: Whilst the particulars that push this movie more towards 'meh' than 'magnificent' could be tweaked and fiddled, overall it's a solid effort and does what is says on the Wickette tin. Maxi (spoilers): Action sequences had great choreography even if Mary's action abilities were a tad soft. Knife fight scene had nice dollops of realism. Not talking the gory shots, more actually the amount of stabs some victims got when Kate wasnt hitting a vital area. Sometimes throughout though a stylistic camera technique would be used, that felt like it was just done to try something cool rather than used with intent. Although the level of damage dealt by Kate and that she received seemed fair (kudos to make it all a bit more feasible and grounded) the constant boosters felt like a video game health bar just recharging and the wildest bit of detachment. The neon pink car chase felt wild with that angle, if a bit tainted because of the sheer number of close-calls. Ultimately for every three steps forward this movie took one back, but on the whole it was a good ride and I appreciated the conclusive ending to give the whole journey up to then some gravitas. Fingers crossed the studio don't stim-boost this movie into any sequels as it will no doubt end up being as bloodied and beaten an offering as it's hero protogonist, but perhaps without half as much wallop.

Besides the whole "the person that took me in when I was a child turned out not to be a good guy after all" and the " assssin protecting the kid at all cost or she dies" tropes that I have been seeing lately in these types of movies, this is a pretty enjoyable time. Even with thoes two tropes that i am tired of seeing in these movies it didn't really hurt my experience with the movie that much. This movie fight scenes were the best like I truly loved every minute of it. Kate was getting and giving ass whopings through out and the choreography and camera was given time to breathe and was shown what was happening. This was so nice to watch and was better imo than Gunpowder Milkshake where both share similarities.

It was a good watch but not a memorable one.. not a ‘my favourite movie’ or ‘top 100’ Normal Netflix budget spent on cast and then slightly let down by story line and script.

Kill Bill with a 24 hour timeline ... Very nice story and action ... John Wick style fighting and way too much health bar of the protagonist with legitimate Medikit

Well, in terms of entertainment it's good, Winstead is excellent but the overall plot wasn't the most grasping. Harrelsons back story was left somewhat lacking and overall it just felt a little underwhelming. Well worth a watch the once though
