SPOILER WARNING Omg wow! I absolutely loved this movie and it exceeded my expectations. It was packed with Easter eggs, action, comedy, and so much more. I cannot wait to see this movie again when it comes out on Disney +. Positives: - the comedy throughout was great and I laughed a lot. It reminded me of ragnarok humor wise. - Florence and Scarlett had great chemistry and it showed. - I like the symbolism of the white suits instead of the black. This was a time in her life when she was back with her family and she was happy so it wasn’t as dark as everything normally is with the avengers. - she finally got a sweet goodbye with yelana at her headstone. And I am so excited for Hawkeye and Yelena hunting him down. - the way they did her backstory was great and you really got to know just how hard her life was. Trained super spy, no friends, and a fake family that became real years later. Ugh so good. - I loved the visuals at the beginning, it made it stand apart from other marvel movies with the cinematography - the red and white lighting theme through was emmaculate. - the plot twist where black widow and Melina switched faces electronically to trick him was so good and unexpected. Negatives: - I just wish that they would have freed all the widows in the movie rather than her just transferring all the data to Yelena. Overall: 4 1/2 out of 5 stars

If I'm being completely honest Black Widow should of been had her movie a long time ago and the fact that we are just now getting it is kinda weird because of what happened to her. I like all the family members but Florence Pugh was a standout out for me. The movie in my opinion was just ok it didn't really do that much or really make me feel anything while watching it. Taskmaster was very entertaining and I love all of his scenes but I really wanted more of him he's not really in the movie that much. For a Balck Widow movie the choreography is ok but it could of been better honestly the bad editing looked like it was trying to hide alot of it with some shaky cam. This was a very underwhelming marvel movie but I'm glad we got some thing for Black Widow. Its nothing I'm going to remember down the road and it is a pretty dry entry.

An awesome movie! In many ways this feels like the marriage between the MCU and a James Bondesque spy thriller.

July 8, 2021 (opening showing): This movie does an amazing job to showcase periods of time in The MCU we haven’t seen before from the perspective of Natasha Romanoff! The action, story, humor, costumes, and acting are all superb and I believe will stand the test of time with every other entry into this vast cinematic universe. Taskmaster was an awesome villain and I really hope we see more in the future from this complex character. Spoilers: There are several shots I took note to count (my own counting of course) how many times they occurred and they are as follows: The way Natasha dies in Avengers: Endgame (2019) is shown 3 other times when she is laying down on the ground. Natasha has 5 instances of major butt shot focus. Very prominent and strange. Also that end credit scene was so prominent and it’s exciting to see them bringing attention to the MCU Disney+ shows (I assume the Hawkeye show). July 9, 2021: Florence Pugh absolutely steals the show here. I cannot tell you how much of my time watching this (especially on this second watch) was spent watching her character of Yelena Belova. From the main focuses to her simply in the background of scenes, Yelena does so much to stand out as a strong female character, who quite honestly, outperformed Scarlett Johansson. I really hope that we see more of Yelena in the future of the MCU, but I’d also love to see her become the new Black Widow.

Great to se Black Widow back in action but by my opinion she wasn’t almost even the main character in her own movie. I think her sister Widow and “father” Red Guardian stole the show - loved those two.

Classic Spy film meets MCU. Really enjoyed this origin story of Natasha, pretty dark topics covered but with the perfect balance of hilarious family bickering from Pugh and Harbour. Also love all the little Easter eggs lining up the film between Natasha's appearances in Civil War and Infinity War.

SO FREAKING AWESOME. This movie had to be one of the best marvel movies yet. It truly captured the story of Natasha Romanoff from the beginning to the end. In the previous Marvel movie Avengers: Age Of Ultron it showed how Natasha had memories of the ‘Red Room’ and her experience their but in Black Widow you really get too see what it was like. This movie also gives the background of how Natasha grew up and what her life was like before all of the bad things. The most important thing about this movie for me was just seeing her family and with EVERYTHING they’ve been through they still managed to come back and have a love/hate bond lol

Black Widow's deeper themes are drowned out in all the action, but it remains a solidly entertaining standalone adventure that's rounded out by a stellar supporting cast.

Went in with not a whole lot of expectations after it being delayed so many times but man I was blown away. From the action to the humor to the more serious moments and all the Easter eggs it was an awesome film. Only real downside for me is that task master felt under used and more of a side character but that is a minor complaint. Florence pugh stole the show and is going to make a great addition to the MCU.

After finally watching this, I am definitely now sat on the fence, it was really just ok and that’s about it 😬. Yes it is great seeing Natasha take a lead and yes she accomplished this feat rather well and yes it is great being introduced to a few other characters from the Marvel universe alongside a small snippet of Marvel history pre End Game. However where this movie 🎥 massively stumps for me, is that there is a total lack of typical Marvel comedy output, a genuine lack of connection between any/all superheroes & villains, a pretty naff storyline, and a rather dull ending. From spending some time seeing how others saw this film, it is very clear that Black Widow divides opinion amongst viewers, so for any newcomer about to watch, it is still worth watching to see where you sit with this 50/50 love it or hate it Marmite style film 🎞.

It entertained but nothing special. Effects were good. What I can’t stomach is the woke stance this film took, having watched the film, now imagine every gender switched, if that was the case there would have been uproar. The only men in it are portrayed as useless, antagonistic idiots. I’m sorry but this doesn’t sit well with me and spoilt and hope of enjoyment.

Black Widow: the least Avenger-like movie in the series The latest Marvel offering is entertaining and full of action. It is also 'the least Avenger-like movie in the series so far'

I had high hopes for this movie, but it turned out to be pretty underwhelming. It's not a bad movie by any means, but I expected it to be a grounded, James Bond-type spy movie (because that's how Black Widow is in the comics), not something with over-the-top exaggerated fight scenes. The pacing was good; the storyline was okay, it wasn't anything unique. Florence Pugh gave a stellar performance and I'm looking forward to her character's future endeavors. This was just your average Marvel movie, and I expected it to be a lot more. And did I talk about Taskmaster... utterly disappointing.

After an entire year without any MCU content, Marvel Studios has officially released “Black Widow” in currently-open theaters, and my goodness, how we’ve missed this kick-ass franchise. The Scarlet Johansson-led film is action-packed and a thrill to see, especially in the visual effects area. It gives us a deep dive into Natasha Romanoff’s history, including who she was before she became an Avenger. The supporting cast also does a phenomenal job, with Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova) being the main highlight of it all. It’s definitely a must-watch for Marvel fans, but it’s also a must-watch for those who want to see one of 2021’s best action films.

It’s not going to be a Marvel classic like Black Panther or Thor: Ragnarok, but it does well to introduce a new gamut of characters and a more nuanced protagonist. Florence Pugh almost steals the show, and the family dynamics are the highlight of the film. Where it suffers is from a somewhat formulaic and forgettable villain, who does not have much backstory or complexity. He’s a bunker-dweller you’ve never heard of that maybe wants world domination? Or world war? Or just power? Maybe? Your guess is as good as mine. Still, the character development for the rest of the cast is well done, and it’s weirdly refreshing to see a movie where the heroes can’t throw fireballs or shoot lasers. Black Widow has plenty of homages to the Avengers saga, but stands alone as an appropriate one-off (and send-off) for Natasha Romanoff.

Mceu keeps doing it, brushing off emotional scenes with a joke...this movie has no stakes, the villain is bad, black widow was written out to be a bad person just to make her sister shine, her sister carried the movie tbh

The only part about the movie that I loved is the black widows sister who is so cute and hot. Also she is the key to Upcoming Hawkeye series, probably

It’s just another iteration of Marvel’s routine formula. I can’t say it’s a solid addition to MCU but it has it own value and purpose introducing some new characters for future movies. As a movie it is enjoyable but only a one time watch! As per the timeline the movie takes place between Civil War and Infinity War, I was expecting that this movie would cover what happened to Natasha in those years but this movie just cover two days! There are too many loose ends unexplored! And Taskmaster character is utterly wasted, that climax twist gave me headache! As a MCU fan I’m disappointed. But it’s a decent movie and a Must watch if you wish to continue MCU after Endgame 💯

Enjoyable, I loved Yelena Belova Character who play role of Natasha's sister. The CGI in the movie did not do a good job this time, could not feel emotionally attached to the story or character. The story is not in-depth of Black Widow's Past.

Why is this movie this bad? Like it’s not horrible or anything, but like….you have a 200 million dollar budget. You have a beloved character with an interesting backstory who we’ve cared about for over a decade. YOU HAVE FUCKING SCAR JO AND FLORENCE PUGH. WHY ISNT THIS A TOP TIER MOVIE, MARVEL?!

A fitting movie for a great heroine, it's been a long time coming. It's exciting, fun, and filled with action, it's also refreshing by introducing the perspective of her family into her story.
