Wauw! Based on reviews I expected this to be good but it was really great! Firstly I loved that they didn’t just remake the original but instead spun a whole new story around the main character and thereby built out the story in a new and creative way! Emma Stone KILLED it!! Best female lead for an Oscar? Also the costume design is unreal 👏 Loved the whole thing! Amazing - not a dull moment! Forgot to mention: THE SCORE in this movie is AMAZING. Wow! Such a fabulous combination of beautiful classics 😍

now that's what a movie is being called 👏👌🙌 At first I thought it was boring, but boy was I wrong. This is possibly the best Disney live-action remake I’ve ever seen. Emma Stone and Emma Thompson’s roles are so perfectly casted, it blew me away. The way they transition from young Estella to adult Estella is so smooth, and it was the absolute perfect time for the switch. The plot twists had me so incredibly invested that I couldn’t help but be on the edge of my seat. The movie left off in such a perfect place (by the way, be sure to watch the credits scene) that I would be surprised if there wasn’t a sequel sometime soon.

📣 Top user review: Can you make an entertaining film by blending features from the Joker's girlfriend Harley Quinn in "Birds of Prey," a successful heist film like Oceans Eleven, the daring of a Bond film, a swath of "The Devil Wears Prada," and meld it with the 1970's London punk fashion story of designer Vivienne Westwood? Can you do all that as a backstory for a six-decade old, animated Disney feature film? Can you sew all those different fabrics and parts into one cohesive garment? Apparently, you can. There is so much brilliant writing, over-the-top performance, and spot-on production brilliance packed into this movie that it must simply be seen to be appreciated. I've never seen a movie like this and I don't think there's a written explanation that can do it justice. If you love all sorts of films like the ones listed above, you'll love this film.

This was a great movie! Emma Stone was brilliant (as always). I feel that they were true to the nostalgic original, and created a dark yet warm origin story. Definitely recommend!

Fantastic. Totally reinvented the franchise with an amazing origin story. Dark and deep and super entertaining. Great performances.

Absolutely loooooved it!!! I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, since I loved the cartoon as a child, and well didn’t like her… But wauw did I love this Cruella!!! Amazing with the hints of the cartoon version. It is a long one, but worth it.

Boy oh boy what a fantastic and a beautiful (yes a bad one) art of a movie that is. Truly an art superbly portrayed on a canvas. From the sheer performance of the all of the cast, to the lil lil bits of the details to catch the attention. And Emma Stone, as much appreciation we do for her wouldn't be enough cuz she was just outstanding in this one too. Stunning and stellar as always, she's a darling isn't she, one couldn't get enough of her, she just rolls onto the stage when it comes to I don't know what she does on stage, it's a magic in itself. I mean it is a Disney movie afterall, one couldn't argue about storyline which was beautifully written (though I really wonder where did that Cruella came from really, there they didn't showed anything to add up what she really became in the future it was mostly a question mark with respect to her past, but still as much as I watched it was awesome), production quality which was phenomenally best, the old and retro look perfectly crafted and fitted to look fabulous in that 70s vibe. Old British accent, I mean I'm all in if that's the case. The movie a a mixture of feelings and good insights in the fashion industry which was very much intriguing to me. And the best part was that even though I've guessed what would happen next, I was still facinated how the story might take a turn and surprise me, which clearly if did. The psychology was really good. Because you can't be the person you pretending to be in all these years, all this agression, this rage would eventually come out at some point. A bad person is still and will be a person, your definition doesn't add up to fit in with theirs that's all. Just take a different approach and try to look into their story with their perspective I bet you'll be surprised by it. So definitely a worth watch movie, should definitely check this one out. So yeah my thoughts are now expressed and yeah happy watching :)

Emma Stone took the role Glenn Close played originally & made it her own. Stellar performances by the two Emmas

What an excellent live-action origin film for Cruella! This film is amazing from the score, the acting (holy crap Emma Stone, wowza), and of course the BEAUTIFUL costumes. All around, the story is intriguing, fun, and relatable for all sorts of people. This is not one you should miss out on, so make sure to see it in theaters as soon as you can!

Cruella can't quite answer the question of why its title character needed an origin story, but this dazzling visual feast is awfully fun to watch whenever its leading ladies lock horns

Ok this took me totally by surprise! I had the impression it was an animation sequel to 101 Dalmatians but it very much was not (for the better!) Totally feel good movie, with a banging soundtrack that has you dancing/laughing along throughout. Imagery is stunning, very Oliver Twist oldie-London. Acting is phenomenal - the two Emma’s are brilliant. Plot also super interesting, as a pre-quel to Cruella with plenty of plot twists just as you feel like you know where it’s going. Disney keeps surprising me 👏

Fabulous darling! The 70s punk aesthetic and music was just perfectly kitsch. ⚫⚪ I liked a few of the subtle nods to the original 101 Dalmatians story and overall I found it a very entertaining Disney film - one of the better recent live action films from them!

101 Dalmations was never at the top of my Disney list so I wasn't expecting to be entertained that much but I absolutely enjoyed this movie! Especially when Stone and Thompson are on screen together, fab!

A pleasant surprise - entertaining plot, not-so-predictable turns, and Emma Stone is fantastic. I took away a couple of points because the psychological transformation could have been way more engaging

Cruella: 'There's something hollow at the film's centre' Disney's latest villain origin story is "lukewarm" style over substance – with a narrative that's not as bold as its design

I may be a bit Emma Stone biased, but really enjoyed this live-action origin story. It didn't feel like it worried about tying in too much and was much the better for it. Dollops of style from a really fun industry to show a "villain" but even with some of the darker sides of the story it never lost the playful edge that make it Disney. Hope they take note of the success here and look at the truly interesting characters in their library and spin new stories out of this, rather than the "let's do it with expensive CGI" tactic as of late.

Disney has done an excellent job with this film since it is giving us something a little more raw without forgetting its classic touch the film has moments that break and Tomás that are still beautiful to see, I think we all have to see this movie even once because the performances alone are worth it.

Honestly surprised at how much I loved this one. Stone and Thompson’s acting was incredible and the plot lines were creative, while also staying true to the original movie. Some really good plot twists and Cruella’s descent into madness was done so well. The costumes and score were also amazing. As far as origin stories go, this one was handled excellently. Loved it!

A lot better than expected. Epic soundtrack and cool way to switch up the original 101 Dalmatians story.

So so so good, love the tension between Cruella and her boss (basically),, and love the revenge on each other,, the end was well needed!

Excellent film, kids absolutely loved it and I have to say I didn’t mind it either. Good reimagined version of a classic.

Great take on the concept of how Cruella became the person she was before 101 Dalmations. Definitely worth a watch.

I watched this movie with the expectation of It being a "Maleficent but with the evil woman from the Dalmatians" and eventhough It was basically that, I really enjoyed the movie. From the Live-action "remakes" from Disney, this might be my favorite one by far. I really like the characters, the story, the soundtrack, the art and costume direction, overall a great movie... Eventhough she turns into a puppy killer (I'm joking, idk If it's officially a prequel for the animation or not XD)

I like the flow of the story and the twist where Cruella turns out to be the daughter of the woman she hates the most
