It ties things up very well. Character motivations are fleshed out. Every setup from the previous movies pay off nicely. And Newt is more lovable than ever. Highly recommend.

Good movie. Enjoyed the links to the Harry Potter movies. Feel like this series isn’t as easy to follow as Harry Potter. Much better than the last movie which was a total disaster.

If this series of films proves anything, it's that Rowling is not a screenwriter and should stick to authoring. This film was still better than the last one in terms of having a satisfying three act structure, but characters are mostly still feeling underbaked, plot points too convenient and the only real charm is in the characters of Newt, Jacob and the animals.

I find that FB3 is better than Crimes of Grindelwald but still falls short of being comparable to the Potter films. The main gripe I have with this film is the plot and writing. Len’s start with a big one, I don’t understand what went down in JKR’s head when she decided to call a franchise “Fantastic Beasts” all about Newt Scamander and the titular fantastic beasts of the wizarding world only to me them and all of the main cast of the first 2 films become secondary, the story isn't about them, it’s about Dumbledore and his relationship/conflict with Grindelwald. It’s just so strange to me. I also think that the whole political system that they try to create is kinda dumb and will probably never matter again in any of the subsequent wizarding world films (If there’ll even be any). Lastly, I think a good chunk of the characters are either underdeveloped or are just bland and uninteresting, some emotional moments don’t hit as hard as they should because they either don’t get enough time to really simmer or are just not earned. Also, a small but noticeable issue is Ezra Miller's performance, it's just bad he's about as bland as hospital food and is about as forgettable as the entire second film, also he has absolutely no presence in any of the scenes he's in, the same goes for William Nadylam’s character (who I just now remembered exists). Otherwise, the performances were all strong overall with Mads Mikkelsen being a notable improvement over Johnny Depp’s shallow and cartoony version of Grindelwald(NO HATE TOWARDS JOHNNY DEPP I SWARE). As I said at the beginning of this review “Fantastic Beasts 3” is certainly better than the second film but is still miles away from being a truly great film.

GAY GAY GAY GAAAAYYY! That’s what my friends and I screamed in the cinema all the time. I love it, but it’s like they did it for the sake of diversity and just that. I didn’t feel any chemistry or love between Grindelwald and Dumbledore. I had a fun time watching it, but it lacked SPICE. K

I know this movie didn't do a lot to move the plot forward, but it was fun. I loved the fight scenes. I loved the costumes and the music and the beasts and the new main characters. I can't begin to express how glad I am that they traded Johnny Depp for Mads Mikkelsen. Aside from being a more nuanced actor, Mikkelsen fits the solemnity and gravitas of the role so much more as written for this film. The awkward writing of Prudence into the family was awkward, but I don't know how else they could have tried to correct the disaster that was the previous movie's bizarre reveals. Similarly, Queenie's siding with evil and what's-her-name's complete disappearance in the last film also feel like they're trying to be corrected here and are equally awkward. But if you just forget what happened last movie and enjoy this one as its own story, it's great. If you're looking for another epic tale, like the original Harry Potter series, this isn't really it. But if you want a fun and funny adventure in the wizarding world with some nice nods to the larger plot, this is a delight. Oh and the cinematography and music are both fantastic.

Bit of a memory gap to what happened in crimes of grindlewald after 4 years between releases, but glad to see a big chunk of the Albus memoir mentioned in the Deathly Hallows book fleshed out into a screenplay.

Great conclusion to Fantastic Beasts, a lot of nods to the Harry Potter movies which made it that little bit better.

I actually feel like I understood this movie easier than the last 2 and therefore I may have enjoyed it more, overall I thought it was pretty good especially the ending part was quite intense and really clever actually. Also I do miss Johnny Depp as Grindelwald, but I think Mads Michaelson couldn’t have been picked better to suit the roll as replacement.

Good. Not great. I was hoping for more. And while I really like Mikkelsen as an actor I really missed Depps performance as Grindelwald.

Finally watched it! Loved every part of it Plus the guy that replaced Johnny Depp played Grindelwald perfectly, outperforming Depp!! His presence onscreen was something else! So many new beasts introduced with incredible cinematography! 100% worth watching in the theatres!!

Está buena, pero dejaron demasiadas cosas colgadas y no aprovecharon para darle el cierre a Albus y Gellert teniendo todo establecido para hacerlo.

In my opinion Mads Mikkelson is an improvement on Johnny Depp’s take but still not enough to make this movie anything except decent. The storyline just doesn’t pull you in like the Harry Potter series.

The Plot Against Muggles Mads Mikkelsen plays an evil wizard with political talent in the latest “Harry Potter” spinoff movie, which also stars Jude Law and Eddie Redmayne.

After the second instalment, this didn't really have a chance, and JK tried, but the movie made me sob for a second, chuckle for a minute, and wonder for the rest of the time if this was worth it!

Definitely better than the second but still not enjoying this series - each film gets a bit more random. Jude Law is good aside from his odd west country accent, and Mads Mikkelsen is excellent as Grindelwald

A solid movie even without having watched the last two movies. Beautiful visuals, nice subtleties, attention to detail. A downside was its predictability, you could interpret the entire series with your hands alone. But all-in-all, a decent watch.

This film was genuinely a lot of fun! We get to see some genuinely funny moments, but we also see awesome character growth for the Scamander brothers (Newt and Theseus), the Dumbledore brothers (Albus and Aberforth), as well as Jacob. The prison scene is seriously hilarious! I honestly had no clue what to expect in regards to this film, especially after the controversy of recasting Grindelwald and everything that has (and continues) to surround Ezra Miller. And quite honestly, these were two of the weakest characters in my eyes. The switch from Johnny Depp to Mads Mikkelsen doesn’t feel right (there’s talent, but in different ways). And Ezra, well, that’s Ezra for you. Despite these things, I think this does some pretty great things. We have a clear establishment of plot lines that can be explored in future films or this can serve as an end to the Fantastic Beasts storyline. I’d love to see more from these characters, but if this is the end, then it’s a fitting end indeed.

Enjoyed it. Got me proper giggling at points. The underscoring was superb imo 👌🏼 I liked having some more HP references in this. Was confusing having replaced Depp (shame). Redmayne's acting is so endearing in this franchise I find. And I just love the animals in this, soooo cute!

3.8/10 Amazing acting as expected. But it all comes down to one question: why bother. Weird usage of camera angle, messy storyline, broken editing… pick your poison. Please just leave the franchise here before we all get burn out.

I wanted to like this movie so much, but it was really disappointing. I'm a huge Harry Potter fan and a huge fantastic beasts fan, but this movie really felt quite empty. They didn't make me care for the characters, and most of the time I was just waiting for Newt to come on screen because he is the only one I felt any kind of emotion towards. I will still be going to see see the next movie as I'm still hoping they fix this in the last instalment of the Saga but I don't have much hope.

Pleasantly surprised after the creative but lacking first film and then the underwhelming sequel had lowered my expectations. Visuals were stunning as you'd expect, both the effects and the art style were on point for me. I liked that there was significantly less focus on cramming as many "fantastic beasts" into one film as possible, and more focus on actually having a story. And the story is probably what takes this from a pretty but bland film to a solid 8, I won't give too much away but I liked a clear sense of direction and felt as though this tied into the Harry Potter films far more effectively. If you're on the fence, give it a go. It isn't perfect but it was better than I'd expected and I'm glad.

📣 Top user review: Absolutely loved the movie! Despite the fact that I did love Depp in the role of Grindelwald, Mads' performance was absolutely superb! They couldn't possibly have chosen a better actor instead. The storyline was a bit confusing at times, but that was challenging as well, so no complaints... An absolute must see!

Unarguably my most favourite from the Fantastic Beasts series! Nothing can touch the magic of Harry Potter movies but this one definitely makes a brilliant attempt. Decent storyline, good performances, loads of magic & beasts. The only thing I missed was Johnny Depp as Gellert Grindelwald.
