Breaks my heart knowing this is a real life documentary. Life is so unfair to some.

The documentary starts off as a typical hit-and-run case, eventually branching out into a spiral of unending twists and hidden mysteries. While it spends the entirety of the first act on the perpetrator and his doings, director Skye Borgman ensures that the piece lends ample time on unraveling the mystery around the titular girl's identity. That's when the documentary comes into its own, never letting us forget that it's not the inhumanity meted out to the victim that she needs to be remembered for, but for who she was, as a person (friend, peer, mother). Skye wants to tell us that even under the most difficult circumstances, the victim was always trying to be her best version. The final stretch is incredibly moving, especially when we get to know of more people related to her, and what she meant (or still means) to each of them.

A dark and emotional true story documented accurately by Netflix yet again, this particular show delivers actual witness reports and family judgements, Netflix does amazingly again and adds to their growing list of well depicted real life event/documentary style movies 🎥. The certain events investigated and brought to the main stage are dark, mysterious and well illustrated. If you enjoy true crime/murder mystery style shows then this is one to watch 🎞 definitely worth a go. Chilling and totally engaging throughout.

Very depressing. It was kind of a relief to finally know who Sharon was and how Michael died. But it’s still terrible that this asshole did all those things. It will be unreasonable to see this guy die from natural causes and hope he gets a lethal injection soon

Wild story, told well, not a lot of extra fluff to waste time. Sad to see how many lives one person can impact and ruin over the course of their self-centered existence. Kidnapping occurred at my childhood elementary school, years after I had attended.

Hmm, if this documentary (although incredibly sad & heartbreaking) was a scenario..it would be: you pull up to a drive thru and order a burger, you get your order and it's not what you ordered at all.. it's worse just so much more worse than just a wrong order. And you appetite is RUINED completely.

Interesting story. For me the way the documentary was structured didn’t live up to the hype. But the ending was satisfying

Glimrende og skræmmende dokumentar i spillefilmslængde om en sag der bare blev vildere og vildere. Godt skruet sammen og fint tempo, alt i alt en glimrende underholdende serie der holder seeren fast.

Watched this last night and really enjoyed watching it.. it’s one of the most fucked up stories I’ve heard of with more twists and turns and a theme park! Gripping story with a beautiful ending.

All in all, this was a super interesting case and I love how we see the complexities of nearly everything. What I wasn’t the biggest fan of was the back and forth and non-linearity of the timeline and the editing. Both of those aspects made this documentary feel so messy and not well planned out organization-wise. If true crime is something you usually watch/listen to, this is a good one to check out.

This was full of twists and turns I was definitely not expecting, and it’s definitely worth the watch. However while watching this I couldn’t help but wonder if so much effort would have gone into identifying this child if she wasn’t a pretty white blond girl? I’m glad her story was told but I can’t help but think how many other little girls may not have that going for them and are still left in silence and oblivion.

Very interesting documentary. I won't give the story line away but this is a very twisted real life tale which peaks interest and at the same time leaves a bitter taste in the mouth at the horrors humans are capable of. Definitely worth a watch
