A housebound thriller with a 21st century spin, KIMI finds director Steven Soderbergh in crowd-pleasing form -- thanks in no small part to an outstanding performance from Zoë Kravitz.

Steven Soderbergh’s sleek and stylish tech thriller The director’s efficient paranoid thriller pays tribute to Hitchcock with the tale of a woman, played by Zoë Kravitz, who hears a murder via an Alexa-style device.

SPOILER WARNING After watching this movie, I don't really know how I feel? I feel like its kind of unfinished or it didn't finish in the best way if that makes sense? Brad, owner of Kimi, got caught for having someone killed and his company was a ploy to get into peoples lives. Positives: - The cinematography was pretty cool. I liked how a lot of it was how she was moving i.e shaking camera, running with her, and showing how she was really feeling on the outside. I also love her escape from the tech building after finding out that they were involved some how with the murder cover up. - I felt very connected with her in the scenes where she felt the most anxious about going outside. The way that they played the music and moved the cameras made me very stressed but in a good way. - I think Zoe did a wonderful job of portraying someone with agoraphobia and anxiety relating to that. - I ended up liking Kevin. I thought he was really creepy because he just looked at her apartment all the time, but now I only find it slightly creepy. He never left the house like her, so I understand the intrigue. - The second to last scene was cool. I liked how she used Kimi to her advantage to take out the hitmen and save Kevin. - The home alone reference where his name was Kevin... (Kevin played the brother in home alone in the 90's) - I wonder how much her rent was, but I am obsessed with her apartment. Negatives: - I don't really understand what Terry had to do with anything. They hooked up once and liked each other and then he comes to her doorstep after she had to defend herself and Kevin alone... nope - I feel like nothing was accomplished besides Brad getting arrested. I thought this was going to be more of a mystery solving movie, but instead it was just hitmen trying to steal the flash drive with the murder audio on it. I was disappointed. - Idk if they assault before Covid storyline was entirely necessary. The whole time you see her having OCD and anxiety about leaving the house. All of her actions point toward Covid from the hand sanitizer, to the wet wipes, to her not leaving the house. I don't think the assault needed to be added for that reason. - She escaped that mugging while on her way to the FBI headquarters, but idk why it was in the movie. It felt like a filler scene to buy more time before the final scene in the apartment with the hit men and Kevin from across the street. Overall: 3 1/2 out of 5 Stars

I enjoyed the film a lot, Kravitz is a phenomenal actress and did such a amazing job in this film. It was overall good, but I do wish it had hooked me a bit more. I also couldn't believe it was over when it was and it felt the end was slightly rushed. Overall it was a decent film.

Zoë Kravitz Is Excellent In Steven Soderbergh's Slick Thriller KIMI is bolstered by Zoe Kravitz's central performance and Soderbergh's technical prowess to deliver a modern-age, fast-paced thriller.

Sure She’s Paranoid, but Something Really Is Out There Zoë Kravitz stars in the latest from Steven Soderbergh, a story that plays with genre, triggers your anxieties and shreds your nerves.

So the whole movie os interesting and it kept me watching, I completely lost sense of time and of my surroundings because I was so into it. With that being said it looked like a film student making a movie, nothing bad to it, but it felt too short and only focused on the main plot and center of the movie. Basic plot line yk? Introduction, Conflict and Outcome, with no deepness in the backstory or characters whatsoever. The concept is great, the story is great, the script was alright and the acting was not bad at all, I remark that the soundtrack being used as an object of when the character is feeling anxious even tho the character isn't showing too many physical signs of it was brilliant and I personally loved it. The ending was the strangest thing of all, cause the movie itself was okay but the ending felt completely Y2k and took the seriousness out of the whole movie also it didn't make sense at all on the actual character. I liked ir but I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it. Of someone ask me if they should watch I'd say yes and that's it

Look, you're either going to love movies like this (Rear Window, Disturbia etc) or not. I do love these kinds of movies and this one was incredibly well done. The set up is great, performances believable and ultimate reveals very satisfying. Solidly entertaining film.
