Lightyear

Visuals was stunning can't lie. With that being said this is the most average Pixar film they have ever made. The story was fine but Buzz makes the most questionable decisions and also has a personality of a brick wall. They also did a twist that was ok for the story but felt like a cheap way out. For a movie about space rangers they did very little of that. Out of the two Pixar movies that went to streaming I would of rather see them on the big screen than this idea that wasn't even fleshed out.

This is a very solid family film all around, yet it lacks a lot of originality. Obviously this is based on the Toy Story franchise, but I’m not quite sure why they couldn’t have made things that were surprising. Zurg felt underutilized throughout, but I think I’ve found one of my favorite animal companions in all of Disney with Sox. Both of these characters felt essential to the story and I’d take more content if it includes them. By all means, not a bad film, but one that tries to draw from our childhoods a bit too much in my eyes.

While I understand this may not be the best movie for kids, the intended audience, I really enjoyed it. Sox is definitely the best part but I also didn’t see the twist coming. I did find that it dragged a bit in the middle, but it is one I can see myself watching again.

Better than I expected honestly. The cat sidekick is hilarious. I actually laughed aloud a few times, in spite of bracing for a boring kids' movie. It's not Pixar's strongest but I also wouldn't call it the weakest. It's fun. Has some adult themes with nuances that might go above kids' heads but also the more obvious message of it being okay to make mistakes and ask for help. But seriously, it's worth watching just for the cat.

Story gets messy at the second part and kind of loses it’s main mission for a bit. Sadly seen the slovene version where all of Taika Waititi’s comedy got badly translated into perfect slovene. Animation looks great but not mindblowing.

I just got out of the theaters seeing this movie. And I have to say, this was a pleasant surprise. When Pixar first announced this movie I was confuse, but when more trailers came out I got curious. Now after seeing it, I really dug this movie. Love the animation and designs of the characters, voice work were brilliant especially from Evans, Palmer, and Peter Sohn as Sox was the MVP of this movie. Lot of scenes with emotional weight that will make you tear up, the humor was blended in great, and the score by Giacchino is excellent here, I liked this score than he did with JW: Dominion's. Personally I don't have an issue with the ending, but I can see other being divisive. Some interesting Toy Story references or easter eggs. Seeing a Pixar movie in theaters was weird but in a good way. Overall Lightyear was a blast to watch.
