π£ Top user review: Everything is grate , story acting direction and CGF , we can't ask more from our Malayalam industry . Even in many hindi super hero movies they failed in CG but here you cannot point out anything .

Old but NEW π Itβs everything you have seen before (If you are a pop culture fan) with Indian touch. The mixed recipe is hard to eat but the output is satisfactory! CGI work is amazing truly splendid π―. Minnal Murali is here to Stay π₯. If sequels are happening I want to see a movie entirely new and with more stakes on the plate.

In a country like India, where we don't see genuinely good superhero story and film this film did exceedingly great job within a limited budget and equipments. Basil Joseph directed a phenomenal film with writers and kudos to them for making a film with superhero and superhero villain story and keeping the balance between them exceptionally well. On the paper it's already a exciting idea that a lighting strikes on two people but the way it changed the screenplay for two characters is just wow. The action scenes are fantastic and kudos to the team for not stretching the action scenes for too long. I still can't believe Malayalam cinema did such a fine job with the VFX and all the camera work during those scenes, they smartly captured each shots specially from the lower angle shots, it doesn't work always but it did here. Though the film sometimes and specially in the end it felt like it's following the same old tropes I don't mind that, cause the way the director presented this story is gripping and compelling. The way they tracked the last action sequence was *chef's kiss*. Also the background music is phenomenal too, this film was meant for the theatrical experience sadly it released on Netflix. Also all the actors were terrific but specially the antihero Shibu played by Guru Somasundaram who is so good and the way his arc changed completely different and I still believed his intentions because of him showing some great acting class here, he surely was the MVP of the film. Tovino Thomas as titular role was phenomenal too the way he did the straight face comedy and playing a innocent guy next door he did exceedingly well. Coming onto negatives the editing specially during the starting of 2nd half wasn't good, it felt like it was dragging, at near end the writing and direction felt like they were pressuring themselves to go in hurry for the end but other then that this is a welcome superhero film in India where we still haven't cracked the code for superhero cinema. But this film subpar my expectations easily, long live Malayalam cinema. Would love to see this as a franchise for sure with even bigger budget. Overall impressive film just give it 30 mins to settle and it's not going to disappoint you for sure.

A new, yet interesting take on what could've been a generic superhero movies. Definitely boasts some relatable moments and explores through actually finding oneself and choosing what you fight for.

Has its fun moments, emotional moments, and a great soundtrack. Movie though feels a bit dragged out, it could have been more crisp. Also the cliched end of a super hero movie in this one seems like the ending has been rushed out without thinking too much on how it should end.

Can you tell me the reason why the only Tamil guy in the movie(story) is a psycho by plot and becomes a villain?? Such stereotypes.. π¦

Good try by the Indian director trying one of the super human thing and working the movie very well. Same super human content with desi ideas

This is the best superhero movie of Indian cinema right now, a few cgi/vfx shots are there and are really great. It has a solid story, storytelling and great actors. If you watch superhero movies this is a must watch...

Well, the one of thing did great is all things about the villian, and con is that it is all good with villian, for me atleast i didn't like hero's story much it had great moments like something like the inspired uncle Ben thing, and others. The music is good. And some feel rushed like hero and heroine it comes out of nowhere ig. Nice custome for the hero. VFX was good enough it ain't terrible. It teased that we would have a sequel but like they have just shown villianhave the same powers as the hero, then what? Idk. The twist about A guy killed and regret didn't well that good like they wanted to,(to me atleast)

An amazing drama which also has the benefit of being a superhero film! The movie is an amazing experience and the whole team behind the film definitely deserves all the praise. A draw back if I need to say one is the CGI work and tight shots during action scenes but all of us should remember that it is made in a budget of 25 crores which is not big as such. But that being said, the thing which elevates a generic origin film is an amazing antagonist who is both brilliantly written and brought to life by Guru Somasundaram. Overall an amazing intro to our very own south super hero. Seeing this movie just makes me think of a time when I will be able to watch a superhero team up movie from India!

Absolutely fantastic. With the limitations of budget, they made such incredible movie on par with heavy budget movie. What stands out in this movie is the emotional core that lead characters have. Guru somasundaram really did a great job infact he is biggest asset to this film. A movie which should immediately be in your watchlist.

It is a Fantastic Movie to Watch. This Movie is More of a Drama with few Super Hero Elements than a Super Hero Action Movie. I really loved the 90s Kerala setting and Characterization. But i need to say that this movie has failed to realise it's full potential due to its Budget Constraints. Nevertheless the Cinematography is a Feast to Watch. VFX are Okayish but they're no deal breaker. The Only Problem for me in this Film is the General Villagers in the Story. The Shift Sides So Easily. I just couldn't get in line with that. I really wish more films to be made like this. I really enjoyed my time watching the movie.

Excellent movie especially considering the budget. Please do not compare the VFX with any of the high budget Marvel or DC movies. Budget for Minnal Murli is βΉ18cr as conpared to βΉ2000cr for Avengers

This movie is an example of how superhero movies are not just about CGI Scenes and explosive fights. Acting is every bit as important, strong performance from Guru Somasundaram. Much recommended movie.
