A lot of people have hated on this one but I actually quite enjoyed it. Good easy watch flying across the Atlantic ✈️

This is probably the worst remake that Disney have made. I loved the animation and this doesn’t come close. Where to begin: - There is absolutely no nerve in this - They taken out Mushu arguably one of the best characters and replaced it with awful ones - The filmography is incredibly poor and tries to mimic legends in the genre e.g crouching tiger - The sound tracks brings absolutely no emotions to any of the actions in the movie - There is no warmth to any of the actors except the one that plays Mulan’s father or the commander - The protagonists are absolutely awful and makes super weird illogical choices

En glimrende og super flot actionfilm. Hvis man ser den som en individuel film bliver man ikke skuffet, men forventer man en tro kopi af den animerede film, mangler der en del. Filmen er utrolig flot og sød og man er underholdt fra start til slut.

This movie is the worst live action adaptation. Period. They completely removed the heart of the first movie and replaced it with meaningless dialog and boring action scenes. Also, the actors in this movie are awful. Disney really gave up when it comes to this movie. It's supposed to be the more 'mature' version of Mulan, yet it never encourages you to think in the slightest. They tell everything to you I stead of letting you figure it out on your own. In short, this movie is not worth a watch and DEFINITELY not worth the $20 it's selling at on Disney+.

I view this movie the same way I view The Last Airbender. Iconic and near-perfect source material, and then you get whatever the hell this is. Is it harsh to compare this to possibly the worst movie ever created? Yes….but I think it’s a fair comparison. I hate this movie and I want my $30 back.

I haven’t watched the original animated version but this movie was a nice surprise. Not enough to warrant the $30 initial price but being included on Disney+ now, it’s a good addition to the movie catalogue.

What an uninspiring and forgettable film. These live-action remakes are supposed to inject a realistic element and yet Mulan can bicycle kick arrows using 'Chi'. It's as confused as its audience.

As fan of the original animated version of Mulan, I can honestly say this movie did not satisfy may expectation. While Disney set out to make a more culturally accurate portrait of the legend of Mulan this movie definitely didn't find the balance between the original animation and the Chinese legend. At the end of the day made it even worse and much less entertaining.

It’s been a very long time since I’ve seen Mulan (1998), but this definitely felt like it shook up the story enough to be its own thing. The action is very fun, the costumes, lighting, and shooting are all wonderfully done. Is this another cash grab from Disney? Of course Did I enjoy it? More than I expected. My biggest complaint with this film is the fact that it’s in English. Disney made a film based in China, with a Chinese cast and the Chinese language shown throughout, yet they made the language English. This could’ve been a great opportunity to showcase Chinese culture to those who may not be exposed otherwise, yet Disney felt the need to make it in English (like they always seem to do).

🎶 Who is that girl I see...because it’s certainly not the Mulan of my childhood. The lack of musical numbers in this live-action remake turns it into yet another kung-fu movie. For those that say this adaptation was closer to the true legend of Mulan, I call BS! Who in their right mind turns to a Disney remake for historical or literary accuracy?! Where is Mushu? Where is the choreographed training scene for Be A Man? Where is the signature hair cutting scene? What a mess 🙄

A very good attempt at another real life crossover by Disney 🎞. Some key things were struck/left out of this adaption, however it still manages to hold on its own and with good value. Was great fun introducing this to the little ones straight after they had watched the animated Mulan for the very first time! Fun was had all round 🤩

It's like Michael Bay made this. Pretty remake with no substance. I've never cared so little about characters in a movie, ever.

(2/10) The best thing about this film is the visuals, and by current standards it is a bit below average. The message of this movie regarding feminism is horrible, it fosters political propaganda, and that it dishonors the original animated film. Action scenes are just average. Quite disappointing.

*Small spoilers included here* Well, honestly my expectations for this film was very low, mainly due to the other remakes being quite naff. But this far surpassed what I could have expected. [So weird to me to find after that people didn't like it. And I'm a picky gal so 🤷🏽‍♀️ genuinely confused] Man I love it so much, for so many reasons. I thought it may be too Hollywood and lose the culture;  although in my ideal world it would be in Chinese with subtitles but a close second is they didn't sound too American and felt more authentic than I expected at least. And loved the Chinese version of 'Reflection' sung in the credits 👌🏼 One of the reasons jungle book disappointed me was the lack of original songs, with (I believe) just a whistle of one song included.  Hearing Mulan was without songs was equally upsetting, expecting similar.. BUT they actually incorporated this into the score perfectly. Even adding the hints of themes at pivotal moments.. Way to go composer. There was an odd scene which felt very much like Star Wars and the score equally mimicked that, which was a bit odd for a hot minute 😅  but as a whole, loved the underscoring. What a wonderful twist that the real bad guy was in fact a woman! And how she got there made sense and spoke into the core message of the film and the ability to still change this. They wonderfully hinted at finding this man who loves her as is and will support her in what she will do and let her lead and go ahead and him stay behind.  But perfectly didn't place the importance on 'getting the guy'. Just gave us what we needed to know,  that he is there and that is possible and other things are important too. Family and honour first. I loves it. I REALLY love that she is so well spoken and wise. Knows what to do and how to say it and how to respect even those who have not shown her respect. This I believe helps to bring that respect to her even higher.  I also kinda love they didn't make her quite as clumsy as in the animated original.  Also she actually legitimately passed for a guy more so in this. Believable. Love that this wasn't word for word same as original (like the fail also known as Lion King) but still totally held up true to the OG. Interesting that the dragon is now a phoenix and cricket is the nickname of one of the soldiers.. but those didn't bother me. Haven't questioned it much. It also manages to avoid cheesy quite impressively. In summary... 🤎 Beautiful film. 👏🏼 Winner. ⚔

It could have told its classic story with greater depth, but the live-action Mulan is a visual marvel that serves as a stirring update to its animated predecessor.

Colorful, well shot movie. Loved how they stood alone and was their own movie over the animated Disney one.

I applaud its attempts at trying to have a fresh take on the original animated film, however most of the changes seem to bring detriment to the film rather than to uplift it. It doesn't help that the of the actress of Mulan, the main character we follow throughout the film, gives a rather wooden performance.
