I spent part of 2020 living in a van, traveling to all these same places in this movie, so I found it a fascinating portrayal of the lifestyle and outdoors - albeit a very different situation to the one I was in. Despite there being an underlying foundation of sadness, it was surprisingly uplifting, bringing the joy in nature and the characters you encounter along the way. I was worried it would be slow and unengaging - but it wasn’t - it was peaceful and beautiful.

Probably well deserved to win best picture. The visuals in this movie are stunning with so many great locations shown This movie was really thought provoking and although may not be for everyone I did resignate with the messages that this film tried to deliver. The nomads are brought together by loss and misfortune due to the great recession however, have found happiness in being able to be free, witness the world for what it is and not being tied down to a mortgage for a lifetime. Frances McDormand was the most important asset of the movie and delivers a memorable performance which differs from her outstanding portrayal of the woman in ‘Three Bilboards outside Edding, Misourri’. She lives day to day on the road; working non contract jobs and connecting to the other Nomad’s which she can feel happy with. Although this film could be boring to the average viewer, I enjoyed learning about the purposes of a Nomad and an adventure into this different US society. Definitely watch this one and tell me what you think! I was curious to see what this one was about and went in completely blindfolded and I did enjoy it. 7.5/10

Mostly a vignette of sad people coming to terms with what they lost in life. Pretty scenery if you’re a nature fan, but otherwise a movie that just wanders around until it gets tired.

Stunning film following the modern day, American nomadic community and covers some heavy hitting stories of how these people came to be nomads. All told against the backdrop of the vast American plains, which gives you the space to reflect and the time to soak up the details. Frances McDormand is wonderful and the film left me feeling thankful in a lot ways. I also loved that they used a lot of real life nomads in the film rather than actors. The film gives a heartwarming insight into their lives and community. 💕

‘Overflowing with humanity and tenderness’ Frances McDormand is “magnificently natural” in her latest film, Nomadland, written and directed by Chloé Zhao. It’s an “illuminating, tough-minded portrait”

I personally don’t think it’s worth the award for best movie but I do like how they covered the life of nomads and how society tends to treat them

Nearly switched off after the first 20 mins but persevered and it was strangely compelling. Classic Oscar winner that doesn't really have much of a story but is done well.

With all the hype surrounding this film and of course its Best Picture win at the Oscars, I was expecting a lot more. I didn’t really feel any connection to the main character and I had a hard time understanding what story was trying to be told. If it was just supposed to be an embodiment of life as a nomad in the US, I guess it did it’s job. For the record, I think Minari should’ve won.

So beautifully filmed! It makes you put life in perspective. I really enjoyed watching it and makes me want to just be on the road.

The film is all so beautiful till the last 5 minutes. Personally I think the final confession ruined the film, as the entire film was trying to explore that willingness and freedom. Edit: a film that should be seen on the big screen. Laptop screen can’t do it justice, and I’m more at peace with having that final arrangement now.

The cinematography in this film is stunning and Frances McDormand once again knocks her performance out of the park. I think for some people it might feel a little slow, but I thought it was a really beautifully told story.

A poetic character study on the forgotten and downtrodden, Nomadland beautifully captures the restlessness left in the wake of the Great Recession. Hang in there with its slow pace and downer of a story – Frances McDormand is fantastic, and this beautifully filmed drama may even help you appreciate your own life more.

Film dengan visual dan backsound yang bagus, namun alur sangat lambat dan banyak bagian yang tidak jelas untuk dipahami :(

Didn't quite get the hype around it. Make no mistake, Mcdormand's been stellar but I never felt connected to the story at any given point of time.

Made to win oscars. Amazing naturalistic performances, raw sound, music that added so much without being overpowering and the best cinematography I've ever scene. A must watch for film lovers.

Very well produced and Frances McDormand is outstanding. She more or less is the movie. It's a little to slow for my taste and it almost feels like a documentary but anyways it's a great movie that takes you on a journey into a hidden world in US society.

Kinda slow and deals with themes and ideas that I understand and sympathize with but can’t relate too. Really pretty cinematography and great original soundtrack.
