And just like that Shang-Chi is welcomed "to the circus". A thoroughly enjoyable origin story for a new MCU Hero and with by far the best moves of the squad - the combat choreography was STUNNING! Also loved Awkwafina and Simu's onscreen rapport. Awkwafina always brings such a brilliant comedic flair to her roles and I felt like this (otherwise pretty heavy) plot benefitted from her one liners and terrible singing 😂. My only comment would be that the first half was so spectacular that the second felt a little lackluster but overall definitely a wonderful addition to the MCU gang and I can't wait to see more from them!

Okay let's start this, shall we ? This will a no spoiler review, so don't worry about that. I wouldn't call this a review cuz this one's just my raw thoughts after watching the movie. So when the movie started it felt like I I wasn't sitting in some cinema hall. It felt like I'm in some kinda war happening just in front of me in China. And man how the movie took off after that, damn I was impressed very much. Tho after the character introduction when a scene came, gosh I felt like a typical bollywood romantic scene with a good background music behind running, while the scene was happening just slowly and slowly. I just felt like it was missing that bollywood song to fill up that gap and seriously we were singing the song to enjoy that scene more. Man I was so intrigued then, then the story started to go to the next level after the introduction of the so called "villian" of the movie and then the star of the movie was introduced (meanwhile I was thinking about if I bought the tickets of the wrong movie, if it was a whole Chinese movie, not the English one for which I bought the ticket for). The whole scene was just so awesome, just loved it, it was hilarious. And clearly I must say that this movie is filled with mind boggling action scenes, and stunts that are true to feel surreal, and too awesome to be in a movie not in reality. Seriously I don't know how Simu Liu pulled it off, so did Meng'er Zhang (she was just incredible with stunts and action sequences), but boy oh boy the fight scenes was bongering. I was blown away by it so did the rest of the theatre audience. There were only one character that is Katy (and one more characters of which you'll know when you see it) who kept me down to sarcasm otherwise the movie is heck serious. Because of her that missing blank was filled. She was intuitive, hilarious and so much crazily awesome seriously. And you wait untill the half of the movie is completed for the surprise (you'll see it by yourself what I'm talking about while watching it, won't ruin the surprise). And seriously the production was so on to an insane level that I was astonished by where how the filmaker and the writers have connected the dots from the rest of the MCU movies with this one will leave you with so much mind scratching thrill that you would confused to what to leave and what to take by it. And the amount of production went to introduce the diversity of Chinese mythology and mystic characters is on a such a crazy level that left my mouth wide open. It's just truly insane. The sound score was such a delight and seriously felt like the heart of the movie in some moments. And hats off to the technical team who made the astounding VFX, SFX and CGI. And OMFG the visuals were truly impeccable and incredible man. There wasn't any scene or moment where I wasn't in shock of having a thought if what the fu*k is happening right now. That were just delight and if I were to just writing about it I will be left speechless and out of words and my vocabulary would fell short. This is one of the best Solo Marvel movies ever, felt the vibes of the first Iron Man movie which started and lifted the bar for the MCU what it is now. It's a no match comapred to the others. This one will leave your heart ceased with your mind rioting over your own thoughts. The movie is just one of the best experience of a true marvel movie that you haven't felt in years. Marvel really went mad with this one As much appreciation I give to the actors of this movie, a huge one for the writers of the movie Dave Callahan, Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Lamham, and the Director Destin Daniel Cretton. And all the stunt team, VFX team and all the crew a huge round of applause and thanks to them to making this into reality. I'm so much excited and dying to see what's the future for Shang-Chi in the MCU further. If yeah that's been it. My raw thoughts after watching the movie (tho I'm a bit late for writing this review, thi I watched the movie of first day, first show, so forgive me for that). Don't think twice if you read this, just fu*king go and watch it right now in theatres. You don't wanna have to miss this one out. And try to get the best viewing experience in the big screens. Happy watching you guys ; )

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings isn't entirely free of Marvel's familiar formula, but this exciting origin story expands the MCU in more ways than one.

ShangChi was tremendous in every way. You just have to LOVE the fight choreography & action sequences. Spick and span little cameos & right amount of humor is a MARVELlous combination. A Whole new World is waiting to be watched… just go for it 💯 Simu Liu has got best debut for a Marvel hero after RDJ in Ironman 1. He is Phenomenal in every way 💯. He’s gonna stay for a Very Very Loooooong time 🔥

people were really really hyping it, so I thought yeah let me go to the last IMAX screening, and I went. Not my favorite Marvel origin story, but it was good. Ngl, I got bored in the middle, and felt that it went for too long, but that’s just me I’m sure.

SPOILER WARNING I went into this movie with very high expectations because of the reviews it's gotten and what I've heard from friends and on social media. Although it didn't quite meet those expectations, I still really enjoyed the film. I thought there were some great elements and a great cast, but there is still some room for improvement. Positives: - I really enjoyed the parallels from the first fight between the father and mother for the first time and Shang Chi fighting his father towards the end of the film. - I loved the bus scene, and I think it was the best fight scene in my opinion. Shang Chi didn't have the rings yet or any weapons so he is simply fighting with his hands and using parts of the bus to his advantage and it was really cool. - The earth-bending that the people of Ta Lo used was a super cool detail, bringing in aspects of Chinese culture by showing their beliefs about their connection with nature. - I'm personally really glad that they didn't have cheesy ending with Shang Chi and Katy getting married or getting together because they really are just best friends despite everyone asking if they were together. - I thought it was awesome how Xialing took over her father's army, modeled after the Ta Lo warriors that all trained as equals, and I really hope to see what she does with it in a second movie or continuation of this story. - I wouldn't say that Wen Wu was my favorite character, but I think he gave one of the best performances of the movie. Negatives: - I understand that Shang Chi had to earn the rings, but from the trailer it made it look like he had them whole time and would fight his father with them to begin with, instead of gaining them towards the end of the movie. - I think I expected less humor from this movie and more of a look into the Chinese culture that we haven't seen before in the MCU. Although it was funny, I think it should have been a bit more serious. - Xialing talked so much about her father neglected her after her mother died, so I really wish there would have been a fight between them. She taught herself how to fight and no body really recognizes it. Overall: 4 out of 5 stars

A solid Marvel origin story with more cultural depth than most. Has all the ostentatious fight scenes and cheeseball one-liners you would expect, but dips it’s toes into interpersonal family dynamics and the struggle of identity from the land you left behind. The Kung fu, dragons, and mysticisms are either wonderful cultural acknowledgments or lazy tropes, depending on your perspective. But definitely nice to see a big-budget action movie push representation forward, and it doesn’t feel forced at all. To the extent there are criticisms, the plot is a little spotty at times, and the ending is choked up in a whole lot of CGI. But, overall, a great one that fits nicely as a standalone movie while putting forward an interesting angle in the Marvel universe.

An interesting installment in the MCU universe. This one seems more disconnected from the rest, and only really Wong from Dr Strange that bridges the worlds… until after the credits 👀 Thought the story and characters were really good, but didn’t feel that the drama necessarily built to a massive climax. Excited to see Shang Chi come back!

📣 Top user review: After 10 years of almost every movie being.armed combat, this one is fresh and the perfect start for phase 4 (yes, the start is with black widow but is something "old", too related to the previous phases), i loved every single moment, i got chills, i laughed. The soundtrack is astonishing, as the.cinematography. The best of the mcu if i may. Loved the colors. The fighting sequence leave you attached to the screen as they seem like they are dancing. All combined is something else, completely new and i can't wait to see more of simu liu as shang-chi because he was.brilliant.

Well here it is, the first Asian centered film within the MCU, and it wasn’t an absolute disaster. The fight choreography is seriously some of the most beautiful we’ve seen throughout the history of the MCU, the score throughout absolutely captures the essence of the film, and there is plenty of heart throughout. The introduction of Shang-Chi was done in a way that honored the past of the MCU while helping to guide us into its future (especially with both of the post-credits scenes)! This film does a lot to stand on its own while also connecting to the broader MCU. We need more films like this so that new fans have an entry point into the universe and don’t have to feel overwhelmed by the vast culmination of the MCU of the past. Spoilers: Wong and Abomination were awesome additions to the narrative presented in the film and didn’t do anything to take away from the focus on Shang-Chi. If anything, Wong has helped to shine a brighter light on Shang-Chi and his future in the MCU. To see the return of Bruce Banner and Captain Marvel in the mid-credits scene was very unexpected, but it makes me excited to see how Shang-Chi connects to the future narrative of the MCU and how much of that may be connected to the Eternals.

It's a great experience. The film having best fight scenes includes marshlands. As always Marvel made amazing visuals. But this is a different type of Marvel movie which contains a classic fights and tradition. A fictional mythology action film from Marvel.

I enjoyed this so much more than I expected to! Really liked it! Awkwafina was such a great surprise too and my favourite balance of her funny nature but also real. I did kinda forget it's Marvel but a few small links helped to realise. Exciting for future!

this was one of the most beautiful films I’ve seen in a long time or probably ever. The music, the animations and the detailing were just mindblowingly stunning. It got the right amount of action. The fighting scenes infused with the chinese culture were absolutely amazing. I’m sad i didn’t watched it in cinemas, because that must’ve been an experience by itself. Also it’s not your typical marvel movie, but in a good way!!

As someone who was born in China and spent childhood in the country, I’m happy to see Marvel has done my culture right. It’s good for Marvel to bring out a refreshed Shang-Chi with a respectful manner. Can’t wait to see what’s next for him.

Was very impressed. Did not come in with huge expectations, but the movie delivered a well rounded story with amazing scenery and visuals (hence the bump from an initial 8). It’s also a good movie to watch as a standalone, as you don’t need too much Marvel context

Honestly maybe it's just me but I feel like this movie just kind of happened- I started it and it was just kind of over. I didn't really feel attached to any of the characters and honestly I felt a bit underwhelmed. I do like the character and I am curious to see where they go next with him. But on a more positive note visually it was fantastic and the fighting choreography was excellent.

A movie with complete cultural depth. A bit different from the Marvel Stories we usually see. The fantastic part is the how the story develops, with very important part of the stories coming from time to time. The actors are very strong with their characters, the action sequences were no question trademarks of Marvel movies. Would definitely be waiting for the sequel.
