Wow. I am speechless. Oscar worthy performances by both Anthony Hopkins and Olivia Colman. I never thought I would be engrossed by a movie about an old man having dementia but here I am and I admit it, the ground was lifted beneath my feet. Tears of sadness engulf my heart thinking how many old people have to go through this terrible disease. The movie is a masterpiece. It manages to make you experience what it feels like to have dementia!! The end broke me. A very very important movie that kids and adults alike should watch!!! Update: i just found out he won the Oscar for his performance in this!!! If anyone deserved it, it was him!!!!!

A touching, realistic, fantastic film. Not a minute of this film I don’t enjoy. Director walks us through the real life of an Alzheimer person, and no word can describe my feeling. Bravo.

One of the best solo acting performances I have seen in a long while. For Sir Anthony Hopkins to deliver a performance like so at such an age is an unbelievable achievement and he will go down in history as one of the greats. This movie brings awareness to the horror that is Dementia/Alzheimers and doesn’t hold back at all. It is highly emotional throughout, touching and upsetting. However, it is a must watch and deserved the applauds it received from the Academy last week. Despite the limited locations used in this picture, Hopkins carries through and makes the movie great. What an actor! Tell me what you think of this one... I was inspired by what Anthony Hopkins did in this film and it just proves that age is just a number 8/10

Okay let's start shall we? Oh my gosh this is one of the best movies that I've watched and regretted why haven't I watched this earlier and waited this long. I've downloaded this movie in Prime Video, and it was just sitting there. I guess sometimes you need a right kinda mindset to watch a certain mind of movie. And after several times, I watched it and it was one of the best drama movies I've watched so far, seriously, what a movie man ! What a movie ! I really felt like to bang my head against the wall, I mean how the movie took off after 15 mins runtime was just seriously so great that I just couldn't hold my excitement and watched till the end. The amount of versitility Anthony Hopkins have portrayed in the movie was just phenomenal, same with how Olivia Coleman, she was just amazing. The movie is just an art depicted and shown in the movie of picture and how the director have shot the sequences will left you scratching your head about what the f*ck is happening in the movie. Brilliant art of creative storytelling I must add. This is one the best slow paced thriller drama one could ever watch. Have a watch it's just so so good.

Wow I was not expecting that!!!! what a movie to experience!!!this movie deserves every reward it got. This is one the best mental illness movie to come out in recent years speaking on Dementia and a idea of what it is to actually have it. This movie was lilterally a horror movie within it self and the portrayal was really raw and scary . Anthony Hopkins just proves once again why he is a legend he was really perfect in this. It is so emotional and gut punching for sure. I can't recommend this enough.

Led by stellar performances and artfully helmed by writer-director Florian Zeller, The Father presents a devastatingly empathetic portrayal of dementia.

The most important fact of this movie is that it shows the fact from first person's perspective, we don't understand what the person is feeling but this movie portray's thing so nicely.

I was blown away by this. Such an incredible and clever film. The writing captures so many of the catchphrases I’ve heard in my own experience which made it both hilarious and heartfelt. There is no doubt that this was an Oscar winning performance. Truly amazing.

Absolutely loved the performances in this film, especially from the powerhouse that is Anthony Hopkins. However, I didn't feel like the story totally worked for me as I would have liked a little more closure narratively. I understand the open endedness of the piece was suitable for the central themes, but for me, I would have liked it to have been a bit clearer.
