A brutal sweep of magnificent storytelling Francis Ford Coppola’s first film in the series is still an epic, full of hypnotic acting, which reinvented mafia criminals as players in a dynastic psychodrama.

This may not be your ordinary family, but they provide enough thrills, laughs, and yes heart, that this sorely needed beacon of hope is exactly what we need right now. The real "offer we can't refuse" is that we all deserve empathy and kindness, which may be the most "Sicilian" message of all in these times.

This is a 10/10 for me. One of the best mob movies out there and the cast took it to another level with their amazing performances.

Now I finally understand why this film is so beloved by many (including myself)! What a TERRIFIC film. I don’t know where to start in this review honestly. The score is a wonderful accompaniment to the stories that exist in this film. The acting is some of the greatest I’ve ever seen. My favorite scene was definitely the meeting between the heads of the families. That scene was absolutely breathtaking. Cannot wait to watch the sequels to this film in due time!

An offer you can’t refuse. Here we have the titan of all gangster films: The Godfather (1972). Quite frankly, it’s probably one of the most perfect films you will ever see. There is no debating that. The movie is a timeless masterclass in filmmaking and an an inspiration to any person wanting to get their start in the movie business, whether they be an aspiring actor, director, screenwriter, or producer. It’s more than likely been studied by almost every film school and class in the world, if not across the nation since its release. If you haven’t seen it at all, you’re most certainly missing out on a absolutely stunning work. One cannot deny that there are many quotable lines, fascinatingly made scenes, superb casting, and legendary script. This film is, in my view, the single most quotable film in cinematic history. Above all these grand components for this movie, the acting is simply amazing. Marlon Brando, the key player in this film, is able to bring his career back into the spotlight... and in iconic fashion at that. The timeless scenes often include Marlin Brando’s iconic character of Vito Corleone. A simply breathtaking portrayal, his performance is not a cliché one and brings forth a prominent sense of realism, subtlety, and downright suaveness. Al Pacino, in his spotlight role in years, is on the same level of perfection in this movie. His character and portrayal of Michael Corleone is so full of depth that as the film progresses, one is stunningly shown his inner-battles, thoughts, and psychological and physical connections with family, friends, and enemies. Simply put, the casting is balanced greatly throughout. The rest of the cast? Icing on a delicious cake. Dialogue and points made in every scene in the film are not only quotable, phenomenal and breathtaking, but symbolic and meaningful. To add, there are countless “Easter eggs” in this memorable classic film that one is destined to find something new in every new watch. The Godfather’s realism, as mentioned, will never be equaled and is as real a film as you will ever see. A simply marvelous film experience. One you will have a permanent residence in your heart, mind, and inner soul. Bravo, Mr. Francis Ford Coppola. Forever know that you’ve made one of the greatest films of our, or any lifetime that we will eternally treasure.

First off, for those first-time viewers of the film in 2019, it clocks in on the long-side of things, & it's kind of slow-moving. ( I fell asleep twice.) There was nothing like it before it's releash, it broke with gangster-film tradition & set-in new rules for the genre, & Hollywood films in general. It introduced Al Pacino, Diane Keaton, & Robert Duvall to a wide-audience, reinvented Marlon Brando in one of his definitive roles. ( although I understand he didn't even bother to learn the script, but had his dialogue pasted all over whichever scene he was in.) And, it introduced Francis Ford Coppola, as one of the 1970's eminent Directors. "Goodfellas ', is a better mob-movie in my opinion, but this is the one that broke the mold. With memorable dialogue ( "Lose the gun, keep the canoli". / Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday ",) & iconic rub-out's, & with Pacino giving one of screen-histories great depictions of a man losing his soul, The Godfather", remains one of the greatest films ever produced.

Somehow it's not that dark being in a mafia world. They don't make deals just for money. They consider valuable human traits too. Loyalty is number one and it's a death sentence to anyone breaking it. I like this part the most among the 3 because it shows Mikey and his father transformation. Music is a plus to set the vibe.
