Through their friendship, Yuma and Sudirman learn to face their respective fears, Yuma learns to be brave to face their oppressors and Sudirman learns to be brave to face his biggest fear, his past.

Legends abound on the Indonesian island of Sawai, but when a young woman arrives to find out more about a story her grandmother told her, no one knows a thing about Halimah who ran away from her husband to have an affair with the sailor Sukab. She does meet a young traveller called Sukab though. In this modest romance, almost documentary shots of village life are combined with the captivating beauty of jungle and sea. With a small walk-on for a squid. Edwin was invited to shoot this modern fairy tale by the film festival in the Korean city of Jeonju as part of the Jeonju Digital Project which in 2013 had the theme Strangers.

As Irul. Five different stories of surreal mysteries on supernatural and inexplicable events.

Executive producer. A compilation of nine short films and collected scenes created by young, up-and-coming Indonesian directors. Set during a single hot Jakarta night. Each short features an interaction between two characters and focuses on the strange situations one might get into while prowling the city after dark.

As Jansen. A video artist working on his latest project, is unexpectedly visited by his long lost friend, Jansen. Jansen is having a troubled relationship with his wife. He escapes the city and meet him who has gone through a similar problem. During their awkward reunion, they became aware of how far apart they have grown, and at the same time unfolding each others breakdowns. Rocket Rain touches on the human longing for inner peace within the shifting values of contemporary Indonesian family. In a country where traditions are considered sacred, the concept of nature and social values are being mediated by the demands of modernity. Rocket Rain is a story of people who are trying to cope with this complexity of endless contradictions.
