About Hichem

Hichem Yacoubi - is an actor of Moroccan descent whose most recent film was A Prophet (in French Un prophète) (2009) directed by Jacques Audiard. He studied theater (including a course at the Actor's Studio) and dance. He has appeared in several films including a short film which he co-directed and co-wrote the screenplay with Daniel Kupferstein. As Reyeb. Sentenced to six years in prison, Malik El Djebena is alone in the world and can neither read nor write. On his arrival at the prison, he seems younger and more brittle than the others detained there. At once he falls under the sway of a group of Corsicans who enforce their rule in the prison. As the 'missions' go by, he toughens himself and wins the confidence of the Corsican group.

As Karim. Voyoucratie is FGKO’s new film project. It’s a dramatic fiction about a young gangster’s chaotic path into life crushed by a criminal universe that he can’t escape from. It’s also about a frozen portrait of a youth trapped by a system that leads you to delinquency as the only way to exist. The pitch: Sam, a little bandit, finds himself trapped by a corrupted police officer who forces him to get information about Ali, one of the high crime boss known to be very dangerous.

Executive producer. A Danish family visits a Dutch family they met on a holiday. What was supposed to be an idyllic weekend slowly starts unraveling as the Danes try to stay polite in the face of unpleasantness.

As Karim. Animals are walking on the deserted streets of the city. Karim has found a shelter on a rooftop overpeering Paris. He is waiting for Audrey to come for an interview. During this one-on-one everything is questioned. Man, woman, animal. There are no borders anymore, the souls are unveiled.

Executive producer. Abdoulaye is a suburbanite of about twenty years old. When one of his brothers dies after a road accident, he takes care of transporting the body back to the village of his parents in Mauritania.
