I gotta bump this up to 9 after listening to more episodes! It explores the life of famous dictators, each one in 3 episodes of ~45 min so enough that it doesn’t just become shallow but also not too much! It’s just incredibly well made from the storyline, to the speak to even the music! I feel like I learn a little piece of super important history in each of them and also super interesting how you start realizing that one dictator gave rise to another through inspiration or through the creation of a political vacuum! Eg the rise of Stalin and communism led to the rise of Fidel Castro which led to the rise of Papa Doc because USA provided him with aid to prevent him from turning communist. Great easy listening and especially interesting if you’re into history! It has ads but really not that many!

I had thought I’d read a lot around North Korea history, but WHEW, this tells a very vivid and dark history around Kim Jong Il. I’m looking forward to Stalin & Hitler mini-seasons next. Great recommendation from the Friendspire gang 👌

I really enjoyed the first episode about Kim Jong-Il (who supposedly doesn’t have a butthole). It is well produced and researched! Great for history buffs.
