Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
2015 . J.K. Rowling

My least favourite in the series because of harry’s consistent teen angst throughout. Still love it like the others though :)

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
2000 . J. K. Rowling

Love hp and this book particularly :)

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (Book 3)
2015 . Rowling, J.K.

My favourite of the series as a child (though now i prefer the late more ‘grown-up’ books).

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Book 2)
2015 . Rowling, J.K.

Will always love and reread hp :)

The Giver
2006 . Lois Lowry

Really not a fan. Had to read this for school and found it was slow without very much happening and had a very unsatisfying ending. Would say it was a good concept though, just wasn’t executed very well.

Thirteen Reasons why
2016 . Jay Asher

Felt this romanticised the subject matter, although still miles better than the series which i couldnt get more than a couple episodes into.

The Mortal Instruments Boxed Set: City of Bones; City of Ashes; City of Glass (The Mortal Instruments, #1-3)
2009 . Cassandra Clare

Absolutely loved this series. Brilliant plot in a well-developed world. Felt very attached and invested in the characters who were very fleshed out, real and likeable.

The Fault in Our Stars
2012 . John Green

Overrated for me tbh. Was “the book everyones talking about” when i read it. Well written and good characters, just not for me really. Have read better in this genre.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
2015 . J.K. Rowling

Will always love harry potter, although the first book isn’t necessarily my favourite. A bit over-edited i think - prefer the later longer books that rowling edited herself!
img
Of Mice and Men
1938 . John Steinbeck

Good book but found it fairly difficult to read for the portrayal of the disabled character and slave in the context of a school classroom of 14 year olds. Its such a serious topic that i think that age couldnt really appreciate. That said it is a very good piece of fiction, just not for me.

Divergent
2012 . Veronica Roth

Really enjoyed this first book. Really interesting concept. Was very disappointed by the following books though.
img
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Book 5)
2015 . Rowling, J.K.

image10

One of my favourites in the series. Will always love to reread this one.
img
The Hunger Games
2008 . Suzanne Collins

image9

Loved the first book but series definitely went downhill. In particular found the third very unsatisfying.
img
The Handmaid's Tale
1986 . Margaret Atwood

In my top 3 books of all time. A harsh warning to what we could so easily become if we aren’t actively progressive and seeking freedom and acceptance for all.
