I found this so much funnier on the second watch! Bizarre, extreme, gory, hilarious, perfect comedy!

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It
2021 . Horror, Mystery, Thriller

Enjoyable, tense what you expect from a modern day horror/thriller. Interesting plot however, I do feel like a lot of the jump scares were just recycled from other modern horror films like the other sequels. I found the screenplay to be quite cringey at times and cliché but i cannot deny that the movie was entertaining and a good watch. Good visual effects and plot but the repetitiveness of the horror methods and poor acting kinda let this one down. Still a decent movie 6/10

One of the greatest films of all time perhaps?

Shaun of the Dead
2004 . Horror, Comedy

My favourite Edgar Wright movie, this one is so hilarious from start to finish whilst having that horror aspect meanwhile. The music is everything in this film, especially the irony when Shaun is murdering the zombie landlord of the Winchester to ‘Don’t stop me now’ (probably one of the happiest songs ever) makes the scene even more hilarious because of its irony. I love the Cornetto trilogy and this was such a great film to kick start it. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are such a perfect duo on screen and they feature in some of the most rewatchable films ever! Love this one and what are you playing at if you haven’t binged Edgar Wright’s “Cornetto Trilogy”

The Stone Roses: Made of Stone
2013 . Documentary

Quality documentary showcases how iconic the stone roses were and always will be in the north of England (still popular 30 years later) Shane meadows does a great job directing this and it’s a good watch. What’s not to love...

Underated. Should be talked about more as one of the best movies of 2019! So good! Everyone should watch this even if they don’t like cars. Touching drama... Brilliant performances

The Father

One of the best solo acting performances I have seen in a long while. For Sir Anthony Hopkins to deliver a performance like so at such an age is an unbelievable achievement and he will go down in history as one of the greats. This movie brings awareness to the horror that is Dementia/Alzheimers and doesn’t hold back at all. It is highly emotional throughout, touching and upsetting. However, it is a must watch and deserved the applauds it received from the Academy last week. Despite the limited locations used in this picture, Hopkins carries through and makes the movie great. What an actor! Tell me what you think of this one... I was inspired by what Anthony Hopkins did in this film and it just proves that age is just a number 8/10

Nomadland
2021 . Drama

Probably well deserved to win best picture. The visuals in this movie are stunning with so many great locations shown This movie was really thought provoking and although may not be for everyone I did resignate with the messages that this film tried to deliver. The nomads are brought together by loss and misfortune due to the great recession however, have found happiness in being able to be free, witness the world for what it is and not being tied down to a mortgage for a lifetime. Frances McDormand was the most important asset of the movie and delivers a memorable performance which differs from her outstanding portrayal of the woman in ‘Three Bilboards outside Edding, Misourri’. She lives day to day on the road; working non contract jobs and connecting to the other Nomad’s which she can feel happy with. Although this film could be boring to the average viewer, I enjoyed learning about the purposes of a Nomad and an adventure into this different US society. Definitely watch this one and tell me what you think! I was curious to see what this one was about and went in completely blindfolded and I did enjoy it. 7.5/10

Punch-Drunk Love
2002 . Comedy, Drama, Romance

Really liked this movie and is probably my third favourite Paul Thomas Anderson film behind Boogie Nights and there will be blood The introverted character of Barry Egan can be analysed deeply into why he is the way he is from simply down to the fact he has 7 sisters to the clear implication that he suffers from social anxiety (and is the reason he asks for a shrink) The plot is great, sharp, easy to watch, always entertaining due to the opening 10 minutes which really suck you in as the audience. The pacing in this movie really reminded me of after hours in that there can be so many bad things happening at once to our protagonist. When something bad happens the pacing intensifies possibly giving us a bit of a headache as to what exactly is going on. This could be related to how Barry feels in social situations in that he doesn’t feel he fits in with society perhaps, due to the fact he is the only male sibling and hasn’t had a chance to become a man Phillip Seymour Hoffman’s short spell as the antagonist scammer was necessary to highlight Barry’s change as a character throughout the movie. Initially, Barry cares too much of what others think about him and doesn’t like others looking at him. We later know that this has all changed when he stares Dean in the face confronts him about the situation finally rather than being the one who recieves all the confrontations Overall, great movie and a standout rom com. *Not your typical Adam Sandler wacky comedy however, i found some moments particularly funny, especially the climatic face off between Barry and Dean towards the end of the movie* 8.5/10

Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood
2019 . Comedy, Drama, Thriller

Holds the best scene in cinematic history in my opinion. Cliff Booth high on an acid dropped cigarette then pouring dog food into a bowl and proceeding to say “woah” Me and George reference this scene all the time and I love it😂 What an experience this movie is and so quotably hilarious at times! “You okay” “Yeah but those god damn hippies sure ain’t”😂😂 If you love Tarantino’s period pieces I would definitely recommend this one but anticipate a slow climb to an out of this world climax!

If you want to learn about what life is like as a British 17 year old. This show pretty much shows it. Quotes from the show are always recited to this day and it is probably the most influential show on British comedy besides the office. Everything about this show is perfect and it is so rewatchable. I must have seen each episode at least 10-15 times plus the two movies which are both great! One of the best shows to come out of Britain of all time

Tenet
2020 . Action, Thriller, Science Fiction

Watched this one in the cinema, it’s a piece of cinema which must be watched more than once to understand but in my opinion does not compare to some of Nolan’s earlier work such as momento or interstellar. Still an unbelievable watch and is breath taking at times I found that the audio mixing wasn’t great on the down side but i don’t know if that was because of the cinema...

Jaws
1975 . Horror, Thriller, Adventure

What a classic. Great characters, fantastic plot. Shark movies do not get any better than this one. Spielberg sure knows how to build tension. Despite the limited slightly aged special effects of the 70’s, the movie is still horrifying and a fantastic watch to this day 8.5/10

First season is a 10/10 Unfortunately the later seasons aren’t as good and the show really does drop off after season 1 in my opinion
