The Holiday
2006 . Comedy, Romance

One of those festive chick flicks I have to watch at least once every Christmas! Interesting seeing Jack Black in such a role, but he does it well! Such a heartfelt film.

The Truman Show
1998 . Comedy, Drama

I don’t enjoy every Jim Carey film, but this one I really did! Although still funny at times, there is a more serious side displayed. The concept of the film is awesome too!

The Notebook
2004 . Romance, Drama

Enjoyably film. Likely to shed the odd tear. However, I did find little bits of the film dragging. But overall, it is worth a watch

Deadpool
2016 . Action, Adventure, Comedy

Wasn’t sure it would be for me, but after being convinced by a range of friends for a movie night I agreed. It truly can be a good film for a range of audiences to enjoy. The element of action and of humour is brilliant.

About Time
2013 . Drama, Romance, Fantasy

It’s not your stereotypical chick flick, but still has the vibe of one. A real feel good film

Shutter Island
2010 . Drama, Thriller, Mystery

Although guessing the ending, it is truly a superb film! High quality actors. Keeps you watching throughout.

American Murder: The Family Next Door
2020 . Documentary, Mystery, Crime

Great to watch a true crime documentary with so much actual footage. However, some parts felt it was not quite necessary to include any felt more as if it was bulking it out.

Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga
2020 . Comedy, Music

Now it’s not the best film in the world, but there are points in it that do make you chuckle. The idea is okay at best and it does feel like it drags a little, but ideal for having on in the background

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (Chronicles of Narnia, #1)
1950 . C.S. Lewis

One of my favourite books as a child and something I feel I could enjoy again.
img
Lord of the Flies
1999 . William Golding

image8

Read this book around 8 years ago and despite thinking I enjoyed it at the end, it did take a lot of motivation to convince myself to read it from start to finish
img
Normal People
2018 . Sally Rooney

image8

Well written, but also easy to follow. Made it difficult to put down
img
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
2004 . Adventure, Fantasy

image9

My favourite of all the Harry Potter movies. Can’t pinpoint why, but it’s something about this one that stands out from the others
img
A Silent Voice: The Movie
2016 . Animation, Drama

image9

First anime I has ever watched. It was truly incredible and really well done
img
Forrest Gump
1994 . Comedy, Drama, Romance

image9

Very good film. Even now watching it, it is enjoyable, but I do find the odd part of it can drag. However, certain scenes do make up for it considerably!

Avengers: Endgame
2019 . Adventure, Science Fiction, Action

image10

After managing to avoid spoilers for about a month, I finally got to watch it and it did not disappoint after all the hype I heard about it. Goosebumps and tears were not absent while watching this
