What Dreams May Come
1998 . Fantasy, Drama, Romance

Where do you go when you die? This movie explores that question very vividly with some cgi that still holds up today. With the bright portrait looking background of heaven and a dark and raggedy visuals of hell. Robin Williams and Annabella Sciorra were amazing in this giving some very serious performances in this dark stiuation. Cuba Gooding Jr. And Max Von Sydow Also was great in here. Highly recommend.

Holy shit this movie is insane!!! I am so happy James Wan came back to this genre to drop this gem of a movie that is going to be desisive. This movie felt like a homage to older slashers with some of the chsessy lines , odd music ques , and side characters we saw. With the sister being my favorite by how supportive she was. Malignant of course isn't going to be for everyone but you have to atleast respect the thought and detail that went into this movie. This is original idea that just embraces its creative concept , has cool Cinematography, a bat shit crazy third act and one of the most memorable horror villains in a minute. I honestly think James Wan just created a new horror villain that will be celebrated down the road because the guy definitely left a impact on me Gabriel is something to behold. This movie isn't perfect at all but I gave it a 10 because of my enjoyment with it and how this is easily one of the best movies I've seen this year.

The Exorcist III
1990 . Horror, Mystery

Wow I wasn't expecting to like this especially after I thought the first one was just ok at the most. This movie is so different and grounded I think it could of easily been its own thing. I love the crime drama of it and all the dark imargey in it. The acting was really great across the board especially the killer and the main character who showed stress very subtle.I would totally watch this again and I love it wayy more than the original.

V for Vendetta

"People shouldn't be scared of its government a government should be scared of his people." This movie is amazing in every way!!! From Natalie Portman giving a great performance , Hugo Weaving doing a phenomenal job as V , and giving us a heart breaking reason for all of this going down. There are soo many good scenes I here it is really hard to choose one. I absolutely love this movie and can't belive I'm just now watching it.

I’m not that big of Tyler Perry fan myself. I’ve seen most of his work but wouldn’t call myself a fan I more so like him as a person. With this movie I think he has truly made his best movie yet. This ensemble cast is fantastic from start to finish. There isn’t a single weak link and all the stories of the woman are strong in there own right. This is is easily one of his strongest movies and is something I can revisit anytime with a nice message about everybody got issues but together we can get through it.

30 Days of Night
2007 . Horror, Thriller

This movie making vampires frightening again was truly a treat. I love how the vampires seem like a clan like they have a leader and they kinda are savages in the way they choose to hunt. I love the kills and the really dark and gloomy look of the movie. I don't think I would of been able to survive myself.

I hate musicals like I genuinely do but damn this one was so different and odd. At first i was put off by the singing the diolgue type of thing but it really grown on me over time. Marion Cotillard and Adam Driver really killed this the both of them are absolutely perfect in this the whole way through. I love how the story gets dark and take turns I wasn't expecting. With a movie this beautiful I will most certainly come back to this.

Horror Noire: A History of Black Horror
2019 . Documentary

image10

I don't entirely watch alot of documentaries unless they talk about a subject I care about. This particular one is talking about black people in horror movies. This is a topic that is interesting because as much as I love horror movies that haven't truly been kind to the matter. Just like everything else things change and that old mentality dies and being open minded starts to come in to play then you get ground breaking movies like Candy man , the people under the stairs, and Night of the living dead just to name a few. Times has changed because we are getting representation in wonderful stories like Get Out and Them to name a couple. I really love the people they brought into this to speak all recognizable faces who gave interesting insight and opinions to important movies they were in. I hope this genre continues to grow because we are still in the process of making a change. I hope we get even more representation from not only black audiences but from other ethnicities as well in that way stories would be more impact full than ever before.

Hustle & Flow
2005 . Drama, Music

image10

This is a absolute classic in my book!!! This movie is just a gem for so many reasons one of which is are the fantastic performances with everyone acting there asses off. One inspiring artist grabs some of his friends to make a name for themselves with hard obstacles in there way. So many quotable lines and beautiful moments can't get enough of this.

The Suicide Squad
2021 . Action, Adventure, Fantasy, Comedy

My most anticipated movie of The year lived up to the hype and Im in love with it. If I had to complain about anything I would say some characters bit the bullet to early I would of liked to see them so more before they died but it didn't take away any enjoyment. This movie was so unapologetically funny and bloody from start to finish. I love how James Gunn brought humanity and backstory to some of the characters to make really care for them. It was so entertaining and is something I can watch again anytime.

The Void
2016 . Mystery, Horror, Science Fiction

image10

Omg this is movie is so up my alley !!!! I absolutely love this movie and the world building it kinda did with the ending. The practical effectsin this movie are so creative and brutal it will make John Carpenter proud. I know for a fact this isn't for everybody but I really enjoyed this.

The Adventures of Tintin
2011 . Adventure, Animation, Mystery

image10

Oh my Indiana Jones this movie is just fantastic. Not a single flaw in this movie once so ever from the voice acting , music, animation, all the way to the imaginative action scenes truly breathtaking stuff. I hate we never got another one of these they really do remind me of the Uncharted video games.

Tucker and Dale vs. Evil
2010 . Comedy, Horror

image10

This is how you take a trope on the usual killer hill Billy type and really make it your own. This is one of the best horror comdies I've seen in a minute. The acting is just great and I truly cared about Tucker and Dale while they try and survive definitely recommend if you haven't seen it yet.

The Father
2020 . Drama

image10

Wow I was not expecting that!!!! what a movie to experience!!!this movie deserves every reward it got. This is one the best mental illness movie to come out in recent years speaking on Dementia and a idea of what it is to actually have it. This movie was lilterally a horror movie within it self and the portrayal was really raw and scary . Anthony Hopkins just proves once again why he is a legend he was really perfect in this. It is so emotional and gut punching for sure. I can't recommend this enough.

The House That Jack Built
2018 . Drama, Horror, Crime, Thriller

image10

Wooow this was most definitely something to see. I have never heard of this director but after this I think I may watch some of his other films because this was so interesting to watch. I know there is some drama going on with him with the things he said in the past but I am really going into based on my enjoyment of it. With negatives first I must say the length of this movie is pretty bulky. I hate its this long but watching it I honestly wouldn't know what to take out after watching it. I do feel like tho some scenes can be done better that kinda drags. It tries to have oddly comedic moments but felt flat for me except one moment and a david bowie song kept playing it constantly and it got annoying after awhile. That's about it. Very few negatives i have with it but I must say I totally understand if anybody says this wasn't for me or it was to much because the movie is very violent. Its not the craziest shit I've seen but it is messed up in certain areas. Matt Dillon probably gives his best performance to date with a very scary and evil person who has very messed up and questionable views of the world. I love the story and how original it is and how we are going back in time in his eyes the way things were and it was so cool and interesting to see story wise. I like the older guy who questions and shut him down whenever he sounds dumb kinda playing as the audience abit. I think the ending is one of the best I've seen in a minute with trying visuals and a retaling I didn't know was happening until I did research on it. This movie isn't perfect but it really surprised me and it really picks up towards the end I really love this movie and find to be really compelling.
