How to Change Your Mind
2019 . Michael Pollan

image10

Absolutely loved this book. Torn between 9 and 10 but ended on 10 because: (1) it’s such an important topic that’s been so misunderstood through history (2) Pollan’s writing is just beautiful. It’s not complicated or intricate but just plain beautiful. It’s not something I normally notice but I do here. I loved reading about this own psychedelic experiences because he described them so well. (3) it’s a perfect mix of science and storytelling which is my favorite way of learning. It’s feels like you’re reading a fiction book but you’re learning a lot at the same time! Highly recommend!

Heaven's River (Bobiverse #4)
2020 . Dennis E. Taylor, Ray Porter

Still good but after 3 books it become a bit monotone. I actually really enjoyed the first 30% but then the middle somehow became a bit stretched out and felt like the plot was stalling a bit. But if a 5th version comes out… yeah I’ll read it 😃 BOOOOOOOOOB

Machine Gun Kelly's Life In Pink
2022 . Documentary, Music

I really didn’t know much about MGK but enjoyed this documentary shedding some light on his life. I’ve definitely been guilty thinking he was a bit of an empty shell dressing up in stupid clothing, but I got put in my place and he has a surprising amount of depth and has clearly gone through a lot. A bit drawn out at times but overall enjoyed it

The Song of Achilles
2021 . Madeline Miller

Really really enjoyed this book. Very close to a 10. Actually liked this more than Cerce. The writing is just gorgeous and the plot line is captivating. I enjoyed the theme of two men falling in love. Highly recommend

Really great and super important TV show! Loved episode 1-3 but episode 4 not that great. Especially liked some of the animations that they designed for it. Recommend everyone to watch this

It’s like gay Sex & the City! Excellent and easy to watch entertainment. And who doesn’t love Neil Patrick Harris?

The Most Hated Man on the Internet

Pretty crazy story. Overall enjoyed but a bit too slow at times and too much repeating the same stuff over and over again!

How To Build a Sex Room
2022 . Reality

image9

This show positively surprised me! It’s a great way to get some fun inspiration for the bedroom (or maybe scratch that hidden kink of yours) but it’s also surprisingly heartwarming to watch some of the couples rekindle their relationship and explore new sexual kinks! The host does an amazing job and manages to keep something that can be awakens light and funny! I also can’t get over how much she reminds me of the nannies from ‘Nanny 911’ 😂 Great show to watch with your special someone 😃

Really sweet and heartwarming! Somehow not quite as good as the original Australian one. Maybe the first one was just something truly special!

Good Luck to You, Leo Grande
2022 . Drama, Comedy, Romance, Rom-Com

image7

I’m torn! The first 20 min I was convinced it was gonna be a 10 but then it just never really evolved beyond that. It’s filmed really well but I just got a bit bored along the way! Felt like they could have done more with the storyline! Acting is phenomenal and they shine a light on important topics: sex work and the need for intimacy in older age!

The Summer I Turned Pretty
2022 . Drama, Romance, LGBTQ+

image8

This show is clearly not aimed at me and nevertheless I honestly quite enjoyed it. It’s stupid, silly, teenage rom-com stuff but sometimes that’s just what you need. My wife tries to pretend she didn’t like it, but yet I had to stop every episode to recap her what had happened whenever she walked by and ended up watching!

Nothing to Envy
2010 . Barbara Demick

Fascinating first-hand encounters from North Koreans who eventually managed to flee. It’s incredibly well researched and follows a few families throughout their entire life. You learn a lot about the history of North Korea and also how suppressed the people really were and still are! It gave me a deeper understanding of how North Korean’s can believe these obvious lies from the regime - they’ve simply never experienced anything else 😢

Didn’t care too much for this one. Was interesting for a few episodes but then just kept on going and got way too detailed

Not Another Teen Movie

Omg so good! A true classic and a must watch in the genre of silly teenage rom coms! Recommend to make sure you’ve watched all the movies they make fun of because it’ll make it that much better
