It never had a chance to compete with the old Guy Richie films, but despite its slow start it actually turned out to be quite enjoyable.

With a premise you want to be true, this podcast is slow at times but I found it enjoyable and well produced.

Space Force
2020 . Comedy

A silly-funny show that captures many of the absurdities of governmental organisations, with some intelligent and subverted ...or maybe not so subverted stabs at the current American political system. Unfortunately this gets lost in very ‘silly’ humour and I feel the series doesn’t quite know what style of comedy it wats to be. The highlight is Steve Carell’s and John Malkovich’s on-screen relationship.

Chernobyl
2019 . Drama, History, Thriller

Superb series, with great performances all round telling the horrific story of the Chernobyl disaster. In a manner that you can follow. Unfortunately it looses narrative pace 2/3 in.

An underrated and often overlooked masterpiece. One of the best films of 2019. Chalamet shines!

The Wildest Dream

Superbly written book about the climber George Mallory - touching on subjects too controversial for past writers, this book finds a great balance between fact and narrative. Though it might require a bit of interest in the subject to begin with.....and now please go and make the film adaptation with Benedict Cumberbatch.

Martin Margiela: In His Own Words
2020 . Documentary

An interesting insight into this recluse designer, however this documentary lacks a tight narrative.

The original short being incredible, when happens when you give two young filmmakers lots of money and a Hollywood office? They make a brilliant short film into an good feature.

Where it all began for Wes Anderson, - excellent writing and showcasing your understanding of brilliant film lore and technique. - just without the bubble-gum tropes.
