This was lovely and so charming. I love fashion and understand that this probably does not have the broadest of appeal, but for me this was good and I’m glad I saw it on the big screen. I heard people say that this should have been a streaming movie but I disagree. The set designs, and the costumes deserved to be seen in the cinema.
Compelling story. Definitely one that tugs at the heartstring. I did feel like Dakota Johnson’s part was a bit weak though. I just didn’t feel for her as I think I should have. But overall, a good film worth the watch.
I watched this near when it came out and never revisited. I regret that now. This was a beautiful film. The scenic English countryside was captured perfectly and you actually felt the distances between the properties which I feel sometimes is lacking in these period films set outside a city. The longing; The angst. What else can you hope for in a P&P adaptation.
