A Court of Mist and Fury
2016 . Sarah J. Maas

Loved this follow up— this book makes the series and is the reason why Sarah J. Maas has such a cult following!!!! If you like this genre, highly recommend!

A Court of Thorns and Roses
2015 . Sarah J. Maas

This is definitely a setup book for the rest of the series, but it has its highs and lows. I think it’s worth it because the next books are so great and there are twists and turns that make the read worth it!

House of Earth and Blood
2020 . Sarah J. Maas

I really liked the ACOTAR series by Sarah J. Maas and she did some great world building in Crescent City! There’s a lot of world building upfront but it pans out and speeds up later. If you’re a fan of Maas, I think you’ll love this book.

Derry Girls

Absolutely love this hilarious depiction of Ireland during the 90s— incredible cast, dark humor, and ridiculous premises grounded in real world incidents.

Stunning scenery, unbelievable food— a splurge that is worth it (and the dishes are beautiful!) and if you can swing it— stay the night!

Gourmet

One of my favorite meals— we walked in and had to wait so they got us seat cushions and wine/cocktails and proceeded to have an awesome time with delicious Croatian cuisine!

Cele Dubrovnik Gourmet & Lounge

Let me first preface my experience with Cele— a late night dance party, and a post-wedding ceremony rosé. Both times it was great and it’s front of the iconic church— incredible setting!

Red Queen
2015 . Victoria Aveyard

Despite having some questions about the writing style and similarities to Hunger Games, I couldn’t put this book down. In a kingdom mired in a 100 year war, silver-blooded people have abilities while red-blooded people serve as soldiers or workers. When red-blooded Mare’s best friend gets conscripted, her attempt to save him sets off a chain of events and self discovery that will change the world.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine
2013 . Comedy, Crime, Sitcom

If you love Andy Samberg and want a funny ensemble show, this is a great 20 minutes! Lots of slapstick moments and new talent make your time with the 99 precinct fly.

Ted Lasso
2020 . Comedy, Drama, Sport

I can’t speak more highly about a show— do yourself a favor and stop what you’re doing and watch it! Witty, meaningful, laugh out loud/soul-wrenchingly perfect… a true masterpiece.

Excellent food and gorgeous courtyard! Highly recommend the tartare and the dumplings. There’s no English menu so come with your français prepared!

Java Cow Coffee & Ice Cream

Had such tasty coffees and breakfast burritos here! Easy in easy out and tons of knickknacks to entertain you while you wait!

Amazing pasta, amazing decor, and a wine list that is impeccably… amazing. The staff is fabulous and every pasta on the menu is so, so well done. Their bread is also magical!

Trivoli Tavern

Holy mother of penne alla vodka, this place is excellent. Definitely the best happy hour deal I’ve encountered in the west loop and every dish is off the chart. The ambiance and the staff is SO cool— I’d request to be in Meghan’s section!!
