Few restaurants can beat Oaxen Slip’s enchanting view of the 17th-century shipyard and inlet of the Stockholm harbor. Sample the daily collection of pickled herring, the soft-baked egg, the daily whole grilled fish, and any of the sausages. Order a glass of homemade lemonade and contemplate the sunset. Or go for the full two-Michelin-starred experience at Oaxen Krog. Both Krog and Slip are run by two of Sweden’s most innovative restaurateurs, Magnus Ek and Agneta Green. [$$$]

A bright, bustling bistro next to the old slipway; try for a spot on the delightful terrace. Light floods the room and boats hang from the girders in a nod to the local shipbuilding industry. The food is wholesome and heartening and features plenty of seafood - whole fish dishes are a speciality.

⭐⭐ | A rebuilt boat shed in a delightful waterside location. Diners are led through a door in Oaxen Slip into an oak-furnished room with a slightly nautical feel. Creative, beautifully constructed Nordic dishes are allied to nature and the seasons - they're delicate and balanced but also offer depth of flavour. The boat opposite is home to their bedrooms.
