Marcus Samuelsson has a restaurant in Bermuda, who would have thought. Obviously we had to try it and it was a mixed experience. The ambience was good, view was amazing, drinks were good and food generally good. BUT... I had the vegan tacos, which was probably one of the most uninspiring dishes I’ve had in a while. So that tainted our overall experience. However if you find yourself in Bermuda, you should definitely try it

Marcus Samuelsson’s Bermuda restaurant offers “Gloval cuisine with Bermudian influences” which doesn’t really promise much of anything. I started with chicken and waffles (a combo I had never dared try before) followed by squid ink tagliatelle with crab. Both were great! The bermudian influences were difficult to find, and shone most brightly through the great rhum drinks. @BeatrizMarañonStraarup had an amazing vegetable dumpling soup to start that was the course of the night. It was followed by a veggie “taco” that was underwhelming to say the least. It was basically a thin sliver of jicama with romaine, shredded carrot and a basic dressing. Odd. The decor was amazing, and the setting is unrivaled! The service was relaxed but professional. Lastly the name is on point!
