Could not stop watching this, wish I started earlier in the night because I couldn't sleep until I finished the series 😄😴 Like the concept. Has a little 'Lost' feel to it, being stranded etc and some good little plot twists. Love journeying into each character and what has happened in their lives, seeing what brought them to that moment in time, and how that clashes with the others. Wish we got to see more of what happened on the island and the characters learning of each others lives and secrets there. Maybe next season will have more flashbacks etc. Kinda love how we still don't know about some outcomes or people yet.. lot to wait for! Another really annoyingly unfortunately awful representation of a Christian household and reactions to certain topics, like homosexuality. Although it is becoming alarmingly clear this may be an accurate representation of some people in America especially. Really really wish there was more accurate representations on TV and film so people stop getting this stereotypical expectation and a fear of faith and church. Also if there were more positive accurate representations of Christianity and its response, maybe it might help other Christians into seeing how they should be.. Also severely disappointed with how the group treated Shelby for being honest, vulnerable, and loving in how she said she believes homosexuality to be a sin and it's all she's ever been taught and there's no hate in her heart for anyone. And the entire group didn't even hear her out, just totally outcasts her and shows her hate, saying some views you can't have. In a world that says 'You do you' .. 'be your true self' .. 'speak your truth' ... the world doesn't see none of those sayings are actually upheld or supported. There was a time people who spoke to support homosexuality or against racism was a view that you can't have. Sad that that kind of hate and intolerance is glorified in this. Current culture really is encouraging people to be so intolerant and hateful, under the false pretence of acceptance. Sad. Really sad. As Jane Goodall said: "The only way to change people is if you get into their heart. There's no good arguing; they're trying to defend themselves then. But if you creep subtly into people's hearts then they change from within. At least that's the hope." Also spoiler: I can't make sense of this one point. Jeanette had a secret phone. WHY was it ringing after she died? Who was calling her? And WHY was her secret phone not on silent? 🤨 🤔 Anyway, might watch the whole series again today.. start earlier 😄 (update: seen twice more since) love the characters even more since rewatching and SO excited for what next season brings and explains!! Hope they don't delve into the boys version for at least another season.. or 4.

Borderline 8: Female lord-of-the-flies, meets Truman show, meets Mean Girls. Very binge worthy drama that follows the unravelling of an ‘experiment’ as a group of teenage girls crash on desert island. Super addictive, not super deep, but entertaining if you like this sort of conspiracy drama.

An addictive thriller that also captures the complex lives of teenage girls, The Wilds is worth getting lost in.
