Welcome to the Indie apocalypse! Filled with folk music, cute kids and more plaid shirts than you could ever want.
In all seriousness, very enjoyable series with fantastic acting. Surprising how easy it was to watch considering it's based around a global pandemic, I guess there's enough fantasy in there for it still to provide a bit of escapism.
If you don't like being left on a massive cliffhanger though I would advise waiting for season 2. A nice, contained miniseries - this is not.
This is really a unique series and revolves around a pandemic theme. Although has a cliffhanger and now I'm so eager for S2

A pandemic-fueled apocalypse sets the background for, uh, hipster twee music and a lovable kid on an adventure quest, running through plains and hills with Mumford and Sons in the background.
A lot to like here, but it does make you play the waiting game a bit too long. It’s based on a comic, so some of the characters are a bit over the top. At its best moments, it’s sappy, suspenseful, and unique. At its worst, it’s meandering and corny, and struggles to bring together three story arcs.
Won’t be for everyone (I mean, the kid has antlers, so take that as a point of reference). But it is ambitious, heartwarming, and beautifully shot, even if it is imperfect at pulling it all together.
This show is wholesome. It takes you on a magical otherworldly journey. A mixture of scifi and fantasy. A perfect blend

Honestly, I’m not even done with it - I have a few episodes to go - but I was hooked from the start. The concept, the visuals, the story, everything is interesting and makes you want to keep your eyes on the screen just so you don’t miss anything exciting or important. The fact that this is produced by Robert Downey, Jr. is what got me intrigued in the first place, and it did NOT disappoint. I already feel like a season 2 is imminent, and judging by the quality or the series, I’m willing to bet I’m right.
