I have read the novel and have seen One and Only so I was already expecting some of the scenes but damn, when you actually see a dramatization of what you read, its hits you differently, the emotions you feel are just more amplified. So after watching the drama, my desk was littered with damp tissues, and had a slight headache from all the crying but it was worth it. Would I recommend this? Yes! And I heavily advise watching One and Only as well. You don’t want to but I still highly recommend it the pain is worth it! If you haven’t watched it then you might see this as any other modern romance with simply a good cast and a not so unique love story. The story is might seem quite a fast pace in the beginning but their romance is honestly a slow burn. The main leads really took their sweet time in learning and loving each other so if you’re looking for a really suspenseful, high-paced, heavy drama then this might not be a fit. It has its comedic points, as well as wholesomeness and drama but it’s quite light and greatly focused on how Shi Yi and Zhousheng Chen held on to their love despite everything.
