I thoroughly enjoyed this show, I felt that each character and actor brought something into each episode. My favourite side character was Neff, her loyalty but great timing of sass and energy was a joy to witness.

This was so stupid honestly . She’s not cool , I don’t care about her in the slightest , and I don’t care about anyone else either . Outside of Casey there was not one likeable character and it was a slog to get through . This is some idiot woman who didn’t do anything remotely groundbreaking and we are meant to think she’s some fashion icon or mastermind . She’s not . She’s nothing , I hate the accent as well . Really disliked this show

This story is nuts, so even better that it’s true. Definitely want to read the book to hear more. Her accent is really interesting.. curious if that’s what the real girl sounds like. A binge series for sure.

Not a bad series but a little slow for my taste. Does tell the story of Anna Delvey and how she went about stealing movie from people.

It started off pretty well but beyond a point it got too slow. I get that they were trying to follow the journalist's journey but I think they need to speed it up if they want it to feel like a show instead of a documentary.

Got to love Anna - she’s a bad bitch who knows how to annoy everyone. That voice is so grating but somehow the series works. Gets really good in the last two episodes. Well worth a watch!

I love the story narration and how they slowly unfold the plot. While I admire Anna’s grit and how she was willing to give it all to break into the elite world, I don’t admire the twist in the end favoring her narrative. A con is a con, no matter how close you were :)

A fascinating story about a master manipulator. As fun as the basic story is, the more interesting part is really the various relationships and reactions of people to Anna. Why do some hate her while others love her? Who thinks they're friends versus who thinks they're using her? Etc. Julia Garner as Anna is the main attraction. Her performance is incredible, from the accent to the spontaneous bursts of anger with so much indifference in between. Trust me, acting apathetic, especially in emotional scenes, is even harder than emoting. I also appreciated, as is often true with Shondaland TV shows, the nuanced relationships and complexities of characters which could otherwise easily become cliche or seem flat. The obsessive journalist being pregnant, almost all involved characters having partners/spouses who are actually supportive (but also honest), the other journalists as mentors, the complicated relationship between the journalist and the lawyer, etc. Even though the story is all about Anna, it's also not about Anna. My only gruff with the show was that Anna herself (including the real person on whom this is based) is disappointingly basic. This is addressed in one of the last episodes. I can't really say more without spoiling anything, but I felt like Vivian did when she left Germany. Side notes: great music, cool fashion, nice editing and pacing in the story (never really gets boring). Oh and, as always, it's fascinating to get a glimpse into the lifestyles of the rich.

After reading the book ‘my friend Anna’ I was so excited for this, and it brings WAY more of an angle than the book which is just how she swindled her one friend Rachel… there’s a whole ton more to the story. The first episode starts off slow and feels like it’s going to be more about the journalist, but it quickly moves into the much more fascinating angle of Anna’s life. A story that keeps on giving!

Being a fan of shondaland tv I had high hopes for this one! It was alright - I loved the Anna character and found her such a frustrating person that I felt she portrayed the part well. Since watching it I have ordered the book her friend wrote as I’m now intrigued to see what that’s like too!

Lot of hype around the show but the story didn’t live up to it. It is surely not a “catch me if you can”. So many better shows out there around conmen. You can skip if you wish to

Amazing. I love how this is based on a true story. It is very interesting to see how one woman can make her way up the society and how she herself almost believe that she is this high-maintenance woman.

Could have been better. But Anna’s accent is so freaking annoying, like miss gurl stfu. And this girl thinks that she is IT….

way too long of a series. main character (journalist) painfully overacts. still, I think everyone enjoys a story about a con-man/woman. enjoyed alexis floyd.

Enjoyed this - did not know the original story, so not sure how far from reality it went. Nonetheless, it’s nicely told, with very good acting (protagonist is amazing IMO, and I respect her even more for changing accent so radically from her southern one in Ozark), and I always appreciate a good exploration of the “fake it until you make it” culture…it’s the basis of America’s greatest achievements, but in the wrong hands it can bring the worst outcomes

While Inventing Anna is as tonally wobbly as Julia Garner’s intentionally daffy accent, her committed performance and the salacious story make for juicy entertainment.

I’ve been obsessed with this story since the original article dropped. Scam queen almost did it, but she took so much along the way. All she really had was the audacity

An excitingly told story with interesting characters. I really loved the final shot of the series (not spoiler) where she looks right at the camera. Really enjoyed this show. Definitely was a rollercoaster of emotions.

Maybe I'm just in the mood for watching con-artists at the moment but I really enjoyed this. Julie Garner's performance is fantastic and the music is 👌

The story is compelling enough to overlook the at times bad jokes that took me out of it. A fun ride.

📣 Top user review: The story of Anna was an interesting one to follow from the first time it appeared on the media... If films like "Catch Me if you can" or "Talented Mr Ripley" taught us anything is that genius con men make damn entertaining stories... In that case it's a young con woman which tricked pretty many people into believing she is Elite and as you know Elites are allowed anything ... Julia Garner makes a damn good performance sometimes reminding Hannibal Lecter with her manipulative mind games.

Highly unbelievable that a girl conned so many people, including prestigious financial institutions, and got away with it.
