Squid Game was hyped to the nines, so obviously had to watch!! 🦑 First of all as @ChristianSchubart mentioned I really love how Netflix is pushing forward non US shows (Money Heist, Borden, Las Chicas Del Cable, Dark, Elite, Fauda, Lupin, Kingdom etc.) The show is at first a little slow, but it makes up for it in intriguing characters that slowly reveal many layers. Once the point of the show is revealed - the “Squid Game” - then one is totally hooked. It is a scary, horrifying, but fascinating concept. However from there it felt like not much more was added to the show. It was very clear who would be the last one standing, and quickly also pretty clear who would be the last two to face off. Watching five episodes straight of another batch of the people being killed in some new way just was a little redundant. The storyline didn’t really move that much for the five episodes in the middle of the season. The ending of course had somewhat of a “twist”, and did wrap it up a little bit. But at that point I found myself somewhat disinterested. Very close to a 6, but landed on a 7!

Finally watched the overhyped show. But was it worth it? Thats the question! Let me just say, it was really damn entertaining and addicting. Some episodes were so so good especially episodes 3 to 7. Unfortunately the last 2 episodes were not quite as entertaining as the last 4! However I liked the twists and agree that this was definitely worth watching! My favorite character was hands down the antagonist (the strongest one/the bully)! He made the show so much more unpredictable and exciting!!! Spoiler alert: I also loved the way the crazy lady exacted her revenge! I can see they have already set up the ending for a sequel, which is sad coz I think the show could have ended with the lead realising that money isnt everything. Absolutely adored the old guy! Heartbroken that Ali died, andddd seriously Sang ho killin himself at the end after walking over all those people was pathetic, I kinda wanted him to unleash his demon and have one last attempt at stabbing the lead in the back (sorry i just cannot remember all the korean names 😅) My favoriteeee game was hands down the tempered glass one and tug of war! All in all this was definitely a great watch!!!

Squid Game 🦑 is thrilling, tense, deep, emotional and raw throughout. The concept is brutal & violent in nature and portrays humanity in a very dark light indeed. Some of the decisions made by contestants through the series leave you as the viewer contemplating their actions and whether you would of done things differently dependant on the situation. This leaves you heavily involved in the show and characters, second guessing certain actions and consequences. If you can - avoid the english translation and opt for true audio with subtitles. Great work and a very enjoyable experience 👏🏻. Get the 🍿 ready for this intense TV series.

Squid Game's unflinching brutality is not for the faint of heart, but sharp social commentary and a surprisingly tender core will keep viewers glued to the screen - even if it's while watching between their fingers.

The obvious juxtaposition between child's play and brutal killings is quite shocking (even if we've seen the likes of it before) but the show is very addictive and so well made - with it's kitsch set designs & simple but effective costumes. Of course in true Korean fashion there is gore galore, there are unexpected twists and above all they champion real heroes - flaws and all. ...just wish they'd done more with name... Murder in the Playground. Torture by Takeshi's Castle. Deadly Serious Silly Games... 😂

📣 Top user review: Just watched whole 9 episodes and my favorite was the 6th, Gganbu. Not perfect nor a masterpiece, but this is very well made and provides a certain level of emotional experience. The overall show was far beyond things that were shown in trailer. Very well directed, performed, and finding its own unique points from the genre mixture of various references such as Gambling Apocalypse : Kaiji, Battle Royale, and so on. Just hope all others enjoy this show not only in Korea but also everywhere!

Well let the game begins then ! I really felt that this show deserved all it's hype, and it seriously so so worth every bit of it. What a human mind thinks and does when it fell into the circumstances of dying, it's the survival game, the fittest one is the one who lives and will eventually win. Their are so much emotions placed into the show, from the intant instincts to what to withdraw from the current scenario based on what the possibility of winning the next game will depend. The OMFG! How the whole concept of the show was written and made it into the reality, from the costume design and the set (believe me it was just beautiful) seriously I fell into that trap, surely you would too, it's that great. The show is filled with action scenes and some explicit and horrifying scenes too, so watch as per your measure. The show begins at a pace of a very slow starting to just building the narrative, and the characters and their backstory, which you will love and feel bored while watching it, but the creators of the show had got you there too, you just couldn't feel bored, because in every slow scenes the music and the perfectly mixed soundscore will keep you hooked back into where it is. Seriously this one's very great show. Do not miss it, you're gonna love it. I'm really excited to see what the next season would be like, if there will be any.

Addictive, good, but nothing special. Hunger games in Korea, but the main actor is less attractive? Very sinister and gory. Not for faint hearted

Squid Game is one of the most thrilling series to hit Netflix in recent times. The concept of forcing people to compete in life or death matches is not new but this one is special in many ways. It's one of the most unique thrillers and episodic psychological drama you'll watch this year or maybe ever 🦧

different from everything i’ve ever watched!!! definitely worth the hype and a must watch! i usually never watch series in other languages than english (and danish) but i’m so so glad i did

This is by far the worse script; it's like another sequel to the Hunger Games. There was no story; it was just a lot of shit!

Mostly predictable but Really good all the way to the end. They did the most obvious “it’s a hit let’s leave the possibility of more episodes open” finale. Overall good acting and story.

Amazing show. Only reasons it doesn’t get a 10 are the distractingly terrible American characters (I won’t blame it all on the actors - writing and editing were big factors) and a few loose ends. Otherwise, fantastic

I feel like it would have been a 10 if I watched it in Korean, I’ve heard a lot of it gets left out character development wise by watching it in English

I liked the whole concept even though its not new and there are 100s of anime and movies before with the same concept .... But I liked the characters and their brief back stories along with the decisions they make till the end .... Except the ending which is stupid and forceful just to initiate second season

This show was nuts. A crazy series that reminded me a bit of Money Heist. Highly recommend and I would watch it in Korean with English subtitles.

I watched the first 2-3 episodes but seriously just couldn’t get into it. It just felt too slow. I’m sure I missed out and am probably a bit too harsh here but 🤷♂️

Not flawless but I love the symbols and colors and crazy staircases and all of that production design so so much. Acting is great too. So many powerful scenes, both happy and devastating. Not entirely sure how I felt about the ending but it didn't ruin the series either way and that's key. Will probably watch again, which I rarely say about shows after watching.

Took me a while to get past the voice overs for English, but the story and acting was well done. It was jarring at times to see the brutality interlaced with children's games. Story and character development was well done.

Initially the concept is taken from hunger games, but there are lots of things that are unique in their own way. I loved how the storyline goes with all that hidden things even if i got some spoilers i completely enjoyed them in the series more.

As many have said, “Squid Game” is unlike any television series you’ve ever seen. With beautiful cinematography, alluring production design, a universal story, and a stellar cast of diverse actors, this Netflix series is truly not one to miss. Without subtitles or not, the concept of “Squid Game” is simple to comprehend, and the twists that keep coming make it so much more valuable. Although I’m not such a huge fan of series with ungodly run times, “Squid Game” was absolutely worth the watch. It will break and recreate you through the most impossible methods, and you must be there to experience it. P.S… Can you believe that this show was rejected by studios for almost a decade?

I’m gonna be real with you - it’s weird. And dark. And violent. Violently dark and weird. Let’s just get that part out of the way. Not for the feint of heart. But, if you can get beyond the initial shock and “what-the-f*ck”, the show evolves into a gut-wrenching drama, with complex characters, constant surprises, and plenty of feels. The payoff doesn’t come cheap. This show will Make you suffer a bit. But it’s well worth it.

I get the hype and I love that all the asian productions get more attention! for me this wasn't as great as the Japanese version "Alice in Borderland" tho. The Japanese version is just a next level of fcked up which I kinda like about those shows. Except the ending it felt like Squid Game was predictable and sometimes a bit too slow and somehow there was quite often a problem with the subtitles on Netflix. But the show is definitely very bingeable and I'm looking forward to the next season!

Finally finished! What a ride and a truly decent chunk of TV. Great obsidian black tone, incredibly uncomfortable but not in a typical horror sense, more from the perspective of how real the characters reactions feel. Like all good shockers you (may) eventually experience the same numbness and detachment from reality as the characters and you share their individual focuses and story arcs. I gotta say the ending was a bit of wobble for me, which put a bit of a damp squib on the whole thing, and generally left me kinda meh about a second season, but previous to that I was talking at the TV to the characters, so I was INVESTED. I personally would have loved a single season JUGGERNAUT of a show, but money gotta be made I guess 🤷 Highly recommend watching the whole thing with original audio and English subs, worth the effort to have the original actors do their brilliant best.

jumped on the bandwagon and was NOT disappointed. an intense series that had me feeling ALL the emotions. I’m certain it would have been an even better experience if I spoke korean though, feel as though i’m missing out somewhat
