Ep1-3 Poor characters, cringe dialog, dull writing and plot, embarrassing costume design, incredibly artificial and nothing like the Tolkien universe we've seen on screen before while also being so boring, I fell asleep during two episodes and had to re-watch. So disappointing. It's just bad, with no heart or soul. Why was a project of $1 billion given to creator/directors with no credits at all? This has got to be a money laundering scam or a joke that got out of hand.

Based on the first 3 episodes it's overall pretty disappointing. Amazing CGI on places but so far the plot/story is very, very slow and lacks substance. Will continue with it for now hoping it gets better but so far the only thing going for it is the trademark and the budget.

When I was younger, I saw the first Lord of the Rings film and fell in love with the film series. When I first heard they were making a show, I was taken back by it and felt like it would turn out horrible. But now that I've seen the first few episodes, I feel like I'm watching The Lord of the Rings all over again. I really don鈥檛 understand why this show is getting a lot of hate because, one, I don鈥檛 really feel like it鈥檚 poorly scripted. I feel like there are really meaningful parts in the show, and it explains how Sauron became more powerful and, overall, how they first defeated him. Two, the graphics are amazing and, in my opinion, it was nice to be able to see all the places before they got destroyed. And three, I truly feel like there鈥檚 been a lot of hate because there have been characters of color in the show. Besides this app, I鈥檝e heard people do not like this show because there were not originally people of color in the other series. Honestly, I can understand keeping things the way they are or should鈥檝e been. But it has made the whole series more interesting to me. Now that there are characters of color in this show, it doesn鈥檛 take parts away from the other series, it just adds a new fresh pallet to the table. If other people don鈥檛 like this show for other reasons, that鈥檚 perfectly fine. This show, or the whole series all together, isn鈥檛 for everyone. But overall, for me, I thought it was something new and different, and I liked it. What I鈥檝e written and spoken about isn鈥檛 an attack on anyone's opinions at all. Just try to give the show a try, and if you like it, great! And if not, that's fine too!

Maybe update this to an 8, honestly not sure why people are being so critical, suspect it鈥檚 a lot of die hard lotr fans that don鈥檛 agree with the content/plot lines. Rather than the script/sets/acting/dialogue actually being terrible.
